I do have first generation Bose and they are equivalent. I can't compare against the new SONY and the new Bose models. But for $60 it is an excellent headset and good value. Bluetooth, if used connects quickly. My only con is the band is a bit on the tight side but that keeps the cups firmly sealed. For the money I would buy it again and I am not afraid to knock it around a bit versus $350+ headsets. see less I have had it a couple of weeks and it works very well.
