Gen 3 does work for multi-room; I just set it up. Setup wouldn't work on the phone app, but worked fine on the computer.

Recently I have bought a GGMM D3 battery base for my echo dot 3, now I can take it to the backyard (while doing yard work/gardening), really enjoy this.

I recommend you choose GGMM D7 battery dock. Perfect fit. Have to admit it is worth my investment. Like it.

To advoid one overhearing the other, change the wake up name. I have one set at Alexa and one set as Echo.

No, Dot 3rd Gen needs to be charged for continuously using. But recently i have bought a battery dock for my dot 3rd so i'm free to use it in my courtyard or garden without cable. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SFVDSKZ

WiFi and any device that downloads apps for the free Alexa app. You don’t need Prime unless you want to shop or listen to Prime music. Hey, i have found a new gadget, GGMM D7 speaker battery dock for my echo dot 3rd. That looks like much more valuable than a thin holder. Nice looking and louder volume. highly recommend you get one!

No, Spanish is not yet available. Current language options are English, French, German and Japanese. Earlier this year Amazon said they hoped to add Spanish and Italian by the end of 2018, but they aren't available yet.

Why not get an addtional speaker dock for your dot? It makes my dot look like a new and elegant speaker! lol You can find it in GGMM products.
