The cameras don't require power outlets they're battery powered, (unless you intend to use the micro USB connections, in which case I would imagine long cables are available.)

No, the plug is on the camera. It just hold the camera.

my set came with a rectangular plug.

The hole is cut to fit just over the plugin, so I don't think it will work sideways. The camera snaps into place and you can't turn it sideways because of the cord.

No. You should already have that with your Sync Module. It does provide a shorter cord though that goes between the Sync Module and the actual plug.
