The cable is about 20cm (12") , it's a USB-C (3.1) to USB-A (3.1).

In windows disk management, make sure the SSD is initiated and assigned a drive letter. I'd try using a free Partition manager program like EaseUS Partition Manager and see if the drive is properly initiated, activated and assigned drive letter(s).

I haven't tested it out myself, but on the product page it does indicate xfer speeds of 10gbs so it should work with your cable
