Technically yes, it seems to have about the range of the regular dongle (several feet at least). It's not going to charge unless it's directly on the pad though, and the pad can only be associated with one mouse at a time.

I've used a lot of Logitech mice over the years and have never had this problem with any of them, including this one.

Runs off of a USB port. I have the Logiteck mat so its constantly charged. You also need a second USB port to run the input sensor. You get a cord that plugs the mouse into a USB port for recharge.
