Nintendo Is simply porting their games to switch. Heck, to some people, this is a better port than skyrim getting ported to every system. They aren't "lazy". They just released Super Mario Odyssey, Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of the Wild, and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. I think they are just tired right now considering they already did some of their IPs already. In short, yes. Even if you had a Wii U I think it's a good purchase. For Wii U owners you had to purchase this separate for awhile, until they bundled it. Switch owners get everything right out the gate. Combined with the 2 joy cons means you can always play 2 player anywhere you go. This is a great purchase for switch owners.

Yes, if you have 4 joy cons or 2 joy cons and 1 Pro controller etc.

It’s a combination of the Wii U version + the Luigi bros Wii U game and some additional content like new power ups.

We just got it today (release day) for my 6yr old son. It’s exactly like the old school mario games reminds me of super mario 3 actually. we like it so far it’s fun!

Since you already have the game for Wii U, the much easier solution than time travel is to not buy the game for Switch

In multi player the character that dies comes again in the bubble then you can pop it to bring him back
