When finished, QuickBooks was no where to be found, specifically the ".exe" file. After three attempts I contacted Intuit. What I found out was that they are aware of the flaw. When we install new software on our computers we typically use the Express or Recommended installation, rarely the Custom one. What they showed me was if I had select the Custom installation the question "Install on the computer" (or words similar to that) would have been asked, and the software would have installed as expected. They admitted that was totally counterintuitive but also said they had no plans to change the installation routine. The bottom line is that the Express or Recommended installation would install a version suitable for QBKS server. Select the Custom installation, choose "on this computer" and QuickBooks will appear and execute as expected. Sorry for the lengthy answer. see less I share your pain. Answer:
Download a trial version of 2012 and covert the data to 2012, then 2019 should be able to convert your 2012 data into 2019.
I cant confirm it, but I was from Quickbooks 2007, jumped to 2017 using trial version to update my data.
I hope my experience would help you.

Answer:
My HOA has been using QB for more than 10 years and have been pleased with it in general. Three years ago we switched to the MAC version and found that it lacked many of the capabilities of the PC version. We are in the process of moving back to the PC version.
