I haven't used mine yet but usually a flashing E + # means an error w\that # so, if that's true in this case, that would be Error 1. Hopefully, the manufacturer can help you. If you have time, would you please update this with the solution? I would be interested in the answer. Good luck!
Not sure about the gross weight, but it is pretty light. It is not the type of slow cooker that you can take out the inside and put in fridge. It is made differently. You will have to take food out of it and clean immediately, and it cannot be put in water, only the lid.
