Don’t know if you could attach it to the existing extender - should work. However, would definitely extend network if attached to the router. You would have a MESH network (with networks extended with the same name as those from the router) plus the existing networks with whatever name you’ve given them from the AC1200

I don’t think that’s the one I purchased but it was a bit more than plugging it in. The directions for mine were very clear with the most important part being finding the best place to plug it in. I tried a couple of different spots before finding the sweet spots. I love how it expanded our WiFi!

No ethernet ports. Plug in close to router to set up, then place it where you want it for uniform coverage.
