Thank you for asking. All fish contain mercury at some sort of level, some higher than others. With the ingredients we use, the suppliers eliminate virtually all of the mercury, but to getting rid of it completely is extremely difficult.

We use fish oil in our product where the mercury level is no more than 1.0 ppm (parts per million). So what this means is that for every 1 million parts of fish oil only 1 part is mercury. Another way to look at this is that 1 ppm means it is one-millionth of a gram. Since the fish oil is only a percentage of the whole chew, NMT 1 ppm is what the level would be.

I hope that answers your question. see less

Answer:
It says "active chews" so I never thought they weren't. I didn't see that, so, I have no idea and I never expected it to be liquid. Sorry you did but my dog loves them. I hope yours does too.

Answer:
Yes, you can provide this for cats, but we would suggest you break the chew in half when doing that and also mix it into their food. The chews are soft so its very easy to break them up.

Answer:
Not on purpose. The fish meat used are anchovy (not the jar preparation in a deli), and sardine. In our oceans, these fish likely have less Hg contamination than tuna, swordfish, and other large market fish.
