I do not understand what you mean about fishes. It is ready to use after you put the included filter into the filter hole.

Hello there! Thank you for reaching out. The Brita Everyday pitcher is designed to have a sticker indicator rather than a light indicator. When the bar is placed over the month the filter was installed, the sticker will state in which month the filter will need to be changed. We hope this clears things up! -Mel with Brita

Yes. You need to align the ribs below with the groove along one side. If the handle is facing you, the groove on the side of the filter should be facing you as well.

Yes... but if you're pouring in mud it would clog the filter. Just be aware that the dirtier the water, the less life you'll get out of the filter. I also suggest if your water is super dirty that you run it through the filter twice before drinking it.

You have to really pull hard to get that white top part out. Sometimes I stick a knife down in there to help pull it out.
