Yes, the plastic will color fade after a couple of years and the net will not last as long but your indoor breakables will last longer. That's a good trade off unless you need it indoors when your favorite team plays on tv.

I had a hard time getting 40lbs in. I think I was able to get more like 30-35lbs. I thought it would be a mess if it tipped over, but the lid snaps shut really tight and won’t open easily. The base is wide enough that it’s doenst easily tip over. I’ve had my nephews who are 5 and 7 really bang on it and it stayed still.

Haven't had to air the balls up yet, but there's a traditional valve to insert the needle for airing up.
