Citric Acid is not a product that can be organic & if marketed that way its in accurate. Although this can be used as ingredient in organic products. This Citric Acid is derived from sugar cane.

I don't see why not, there isn't a cooler, drier place than a refrigerator. I feel it wouldn't work as well due to moisture from humid weather if it were allowed to sit on a shelf in a cupboard.
