No,the inside will get wet.It is a good product but...but not a good choice if you want to wash your car in cold weather.Just like you,I was looking for a waterproof one in the past several months.But only until yesterday did I find a waterproof one. I believe it is a larger hand opening. I went with the XL since I have large hands and they fit well.

If you're going to wash them in a machine, I suggest the gentle cycle with regular laundry detergent. I won't use dish soap for any reason out of concern it might not rinse out; dish soap strips away car wax and similar finishes.
