Answer:
280 has two jet nozzles while the 380 has three. Also the 280 is driven by gears while the 380 is belt driven. A high maintenance item from my experience. I have owned both and the 280 will out last the 380 twice as long by my experience.

Answer:
It comes with everything you need to get it started. You have to have an accessory pump to provide the water pressure. The pol vac comes with the tubing that you plug into the outlet where the high-pressure water comes out of the pool, the main unit, the tail and a bag.

Answer:
The connectors are all the same, but the 360 is not supposed to run with a booster pump like the 180 did. Replacing a 180, you want either a 280 or 380. (280 is my preference.)

Answer:
I actually don't understand the question--my polaris runs smoothly with a booster pump 12 hours daily by a timer. If it is stopping, it may be defective and you should perhaps contact the retailer.

Answer:
I believe it is but not positive. This pool sweep is by far the best out there. Polaris makes a more expensive one but it's not worth it. My first one lasted over 15 years. Wouldn't buy anything else.

As I recall the directions were pretty easy to understand on hose length and speed control. You might able to read the directions my downloading the manual online. I'm guessing they provide it at their vendor site online. see less I recall that you can buy extra hose and extra components for all parts of the system. Answer:
The Polaris 360 has an in-line back-up valve automatically frees the 360 if it gets cornered and keeps it cleaning without interruption.
