It has some very basic games such as throwing darts at a target, and a game where you are a fish and eat other fish, but the games are fairly basic. The monitor screen is monochrome LCD, so really doesn't offer much potential for games. There is more motivation to be found I think in the RowPro software (available for a fairly nominal fee from a third party company), which enables you to row against other (real) people online. There is motivation to be found in the monthly Concept 2 challenges (see the Concept 2 web-site). I am an enormous fan of the Concept 2 erg and I would strongly encourage you to buy one. But you need to convince yourself that you like rowing or, at least like most of us who are serious about this machine, have a love/hate relationship with it. I row with a crew three times a week and I find that helps - there is a lot to be said for camaraderie and mixing up the stroke rate and pace to make the workouts more interesting and train your body to work efficiently in different zones. I hope this answer helps. You can do a lot with the machine, but there isn't really much in the way of games to be had. see less It has some very basic games such as throwing darts at a target, and a game where you are a fish and eat other fish, but the games are fairly basic. The fish game may be basic - but it is awesome. I played it all the time at the gym and it is one of the major reasons I am buying this brand (well besides it being awesome and well made). Give it a try!

In addition to the on board games (included with the PM5), there are also apps available from Concept2 (and others). See http://concept2.com/apps for a full list of options. There are additional options for motivation such as our logbook, rankings and challenges. For example, row a million meters, and we'll reward you--for free! Give us a call or visit us online for details. There's something for everyone to stay motivated to row.

Some of the best motivation for rowing is found at www.concept2.com/challenges. You can compete with others throughout the world or join teams and enjoy friendly motivation from other team members. With optional RowPro software you can compete in real time on line with other rowers throughout the world. There is a Concept2 team challenge just about every month and some individual challenges for whenever you decide to try it. Highly recommended product and company for full body fitness and especially motivational tools.
