You'll need to set up an account at ancestry.com, but you don't need a paid subscription to see your results - your ethnic breakdown and a list of people whom you match. To get the most out of it though, you will need a currently paid subscription to be able to see the family trees of your DNA matches. Also, if you build a good family tree at ancestry.com, they have a neat matching feature which looks for the same people in your family tree and in the family trees of the people whom you match via DNA. Again this feature is only available to those who have a currently paid subscription.
Still don't know because I sent my swab in on June 14th & finally called Aug 20th & the specimen was lost. They sent me a new one & sent that swab back on Aug 30th. Still no reply back!! I would try the other product as Ancestry in my experience has little follow through.
