What's the difference between these "performance" batteries and basic Amazon Basics? (Please don't say the difference is 70 cents.)

In my experience I use these for my radio controlled vehicles and these batteries do not get hit or over heat when used to the limits.

When you tend to use stronger batteries in low drain devices like remotes or children's toys (if there are slow drain kid toys anymore I'm an 80s baby sorry) those are the batteries that you see that tend to leak or corrode over time when you open it up 5 years later when its dead and change the battery and you see the build up. That's most likely why. Now I'm not saying they will explode so don't panic and grab everything in the house, its just something to be mindful of.

Well, they’re really very similar. However, if we consider discharge over time when compared to other brands of batteries, like the Amazon Basics you mentioned, you’ll notice the biggest difference is about 70 cents.
