This may be a silly question, but will this clone ata hard drive? all i can find are sata cloners but nothing regarding ata drives

SATA cloners exist but I do not think IDE(ATA) ones are around any more.

One avenue maybe to to buy an IDE-USB adapter (about $25), plug your replacement IDE(ATA) hard drive in it and clone your PC's hard drive to it via the USB port. Then replace one with the other.

This only has a SATA interface. If you're looking for an IDE compatible unit, this will not help you.
