I'm deciding between the model d and e. their website shoes the model d split in half and stood up for storage. does model e do the same?

Yes, height is only difference that I know of. I chose E due to that reason.

yes. notice the Model E sits up higher off the floor, so the legs are longer and they do not fold down, so even in 2 pieces, the machine takes a little space . it is a very solid, pro-quality rower.

The Models D and E can both be separated into two pieces for storage.

It does. I LOVE my concept 2. The main difference between the two is the seating height. One sits lower to the ground and one sits higher (normal chair height). The chair height one is the one I chose. It makes it super easy to get on and off. Happy rowing. Oh! By the by... before you buy the rower call the Concept 2 people and ask questions and ask about any "differences" between buying on Amazon or directly from them.

The only difference in the two is seat height. Concept 2 is a phenomenal company!
