The shoes I received were not Leather as advertised.

What arrived was a genuine pair of "synthetic" Stan Smith's, not leather as advertised. You can tell by the smell, the finish and weight. Yeah, I weighed my old leather pair and compared them to the synthetics. Leather is ~17% heavier. My real issue is the advertising of a leather shoe when it's not. The Synthetic shoe tag also states leather uppers! Adidas needs really needs to address this. I have many pair of synthetic running shoes, they are lightweight and great but they are not advertised as "leather". I did some research and this particular Stan Smith shoe (by code number) on Adidas.com is actually described on their website as... synthetic. So you can get Stan Smith shoes in both leather and synthetic. I am sure both are fine, it's just not OK to advertise synthetic as leather when a customer is expecting leather. I ended up ordering the leather Stan Smiths on Addidas.com, you can see the side-by-side pic, Leather vs Synthetic. Plus the Synthetic Stan Smiths weight vs my 4-year old leather pair of Stan Smith. I say choose wisely and know what you're paying for, there is a difference.
