I find Yuja Wang's interpretation of Rachmaninov inspiring. I have loved listening to Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto #2 for decades with various artists. Yuja Wang gives this piece a sense of space - or freedom - perhaps fresh air and energy that I have not felt before. I've always been struck, in the past, by its almost dense intensity. Wang seems to open it up to more possibilities. A striking gift from her and the orchestra. (FYI - I sent back the first disc I ordered because the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini had the weirdest skips as it changed tracks. Amazon sent another, and it plays beautifully.) I expect you will enjoy this cd if you like Rachmaninov.
