I love Ennio Morricone's film scores. And Yo-Yo Ma is unquestionably a great artist. However, I guess I had hoped for more of Sr. Morricone's better known movie themes. Many if not most of those included in this CD were unfamiliar - and rather unimpressive- to me. I suppose it is pretty good for background music, but with only a few exceptions, e.g. themes from "The Mission" and "Once Upon a Time in the West", it didn't enthuse me very much.
My sister has trouble getting to sleep, so she uses music. Evidently there is some commentary in with the music, which she found distracting for her. It just didn't work for what she wanted it to do. I think she liked his music.
