UPDATE: After a few weeks of use I dropped my phone from about one foot but it hit the metal edge of a piece of furniture and the screen protector cracked. It did its job! It protected my phone and I applied a new one in just a few minutes (SEE MY VIDEO FOR INSTALLATION). A total bargain for 3 of these. Keep them in case this happens to you.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I used a glass screen protector once on a different phone and it was a pain to install and broke two minutes later when I put on my case.
These were a totally different story. First, the greatest problem with these type of protectors is installation. Installing these is drop dead SIMPLE. The included guide snaps over your phone in such a way that it's nearly impossible to screw it up.
Second, it has great instructions about how to peel off the plastic layer and then use the sticky tab to hold the glass in place inside the frame and place it perfectly.
Last, it literally sucks itself onto my phone. I was so worried about bubbles but there were none.
Then I took it off because I thought I was going to have to return my phone (it locked up and I didn't know how to do a hard reset with the new button combo on the XR). So taking it off was really simple. I left it upside down while I took my phone in and when I go it fixed I brought it home and put the protector back on with the included extras sticky tabs and plastic guide. Just as easy as the first time.
I have no idea what to do with the other two glass covers they included. Maybe I'll find some friends with XR's and put them in their phones.
I was so impressed with how easy it was to install these protectors. You get 3 screen protectors, wipes to wipe the screen down, stickers to remove dust particles, and my favorite, a little plastic piece that snaps over your phone so that your protector always goes on perfectly! All in all, my first impression was great and I was very satisfied. After two days of usage, I noticed there was already a crack in the protector. I left it on there for a few more months because I didn't want to change it for just a tiny crack right away. So months pass, and the screen has several cracks in it and I decide that I should probably get around to changing it.
Yesterday, I put on a fresh new screen protector, and was still in awe at how easy it was to install this thing! Upon waking up today, I noticed there were already two cracks on the screen, and I don't even know how it was caused! I haven't dropped my phone, it hasn't fallen, I was confused. Again, I probably wont change it for a few more months.
In Conclusion, I really wanted to love these screens, and I will probably always keep the little plastic clip on piece that will hopefully be compatible with future protective screens. I don't think I will purchase this brand again, and instead opt for a more durable screen protector.
Just installed the screen saver today. Application was rather straightforward, as with other screen protectors that I have used in the past. Could not get out a small bubble around the camera port, but this may be due to the phone...not sure. My biggest quibble is that the screen simply leaves a gap around all edges of about 1/8" or so. Hope this does not affect the overall protection of the phone. I had used Tech Armor brand on my iPhone 7 and it covered more of the phone surface.
Update: 1/7/19 - Ended up removing protector and trying a different brand (Maxboost) with more screen coverage. the Maxboost protector didn't work out and I tried another XDesign protector. Again, the protector lifted at the edge on the right side nearest the power button. My phone case doesn't come close the the protector so that is not causing it. I'm looking for another brand now.
Easy to install. Less coverage than the protector i had for my iphone 7+, but I figured that is due to new full screen design. Wish there wasn't as much space between screen protector and the case.
Took off a star because a bubble formed on the right side near the power button after being on phone for 4 days. Noticed another reviewer had the same issue. I'm going to take this one off and try another from this pack. If it happens again i'll take off another star and buy a different brand.
The cutout at the top for the notch is too small, and covers part of the notch. Other than that it’s fine, I’ll still use it until I can find a better fitting screen protector. Btw, this company includes a card in the box saying they’ll give you a amazon gift card if you rate them 5 stars. Soooo don’t take the reviews on here to heart too much.
I have installed many screen protectors.......... This was by far the easiest. Just follow the instructions. I hope it protects as effectively. Looks great, no bubbles. Follow the instructions.James Would like to update review.......... Exactly 45 days later of 'New phone tender use' screen protector develops hairline cracks across screen. Hope it's just the protector and not my screen. I'm afraid to remove protector. Is this why were given 3 protectors ?
Before I explain the problem, I need to say that the *screen protector* itself is fantastic and feels great. It protects and looks good.
But the problem is that the alignment frame (90% of why I bought this over other options) is pretttty misaligned. The screen protector is shifted noticeably (maybe .1 inches) to the right along with the screen protector being twisted clockwise just slightly. This ends up with the screen protector right around the notch being noticeably misaligned. When I first noticed this, I assumed I might have applied it incorrectly. So (luckily this ships with three screen protectors) I took it off, went through the steps again, and reapplied the new screen protector, making absolutely sure to keep the protector aligned with the frame. Despite the precautions and extra care, it still ended up misaligned in the exact same way.
I would post pictures, but I don't have any other decent cameras around to fully show this. I will update if I can grab someone else's phone and post a picture.
This isn't an enormous issue, since it doesn't affect most content, but it's just annoying since I got this specific screen protector in order to have a perfectly aligned screen protector. I don't want to seem like an angry, negative customer. I just wish this alignment frame ended up with flawless results.
So far perfect. No bubbles after installation. The size is just right and they feel perfect to the touch. No sensitivity issues. Can't see any reason why they would be anything but perfect for your phone but I'll update later if they fail to protect my screen. The glare is there but I don't think it's any different from the regular phone screen. I mean, it's glass, so there will be glare. Highly recommended!
**UPDATE: After a couple weeks of use I am downgrading this review to 3 stars. There are so many scratches on it, that today I ended up taking it off out of frustration. It’s disappointing too because they seem to be great screen protectors that went on really well. Oh well. I’m gonna try the trianium brand ones next. I had them on my other phone and they were great.
I have purchased this product several times over for the 4 phones I am protecting. I have bought 15 of these screen protectors in the past 6 months. While I do feel the price is good, they do seem to last only a couple months before needing to be replaced. Of note, my 14 year old goes through about one every 3 weeks and it has actually saved us from having hat I feel would have been a cracked screen had it not been on. So the value to me has been not having to replace a screen on his phone. However, on the phones that have not had complacent damage, the protector seems to get scratched prematurely and/ or lifts after a period of time. Still an overall decent value, but nothing else to compare it to. * Note they do offer a warranty that I have not exercised , as it is less time consuming for me to simply order more to replace them.
I had to use all 3 protectors and even this one isn’t perfect. The tool is not helpful and you’re better off eyeing it. When applying it doesn’t lay flat with no bubbles and even the ends don’t lay flat even though they touch the air and should lay flat no issues. It gets so dirty and the anti glare is not noticeable at all. I’ve used another brand before and easy peasy first try. Would not repurchase or recomment.
Update...it’s been two months now and I’m going to have to put on my third screen protector. I’ve been very careful about cleaning it this time around but I got a bubble in the same spot after a couple of weeks. I’m starting to wonder if I wasted my money.
My original review...This is a very thick durable screen protector, directions are great and it is very easy to apply. It protects the screen well and is not visible when the phone is on. I gave it a 4 rating, however, because you have to be extra careful when cleaning the protector. If you catch the edges at all when you are wiping it clean, it will start to bubble and peel up. I’m one who usually rubs my phone against my pants or shirt to clean it and I’m thankful it came in a 3-pack because I’m on my second protector.
