To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I bought these sheets for my new memory foam mattress. The sheets are THIN as PAPER. Honestly, you can see strait through them. My pillow has blue piping around the edge and you can see it clearly through the pillow case. The sheets are soft but you would think paying almost $80 for a queen sheet set, they would be better made. Even after washing and drying, they still disappoint. After just one night of sleeping, they are stretched and wrinkled. If you are looking for quality, these are not the sheets for you. Hopefully this helps someone avoid my mistake.
Wish I could give these 0 stars. The smell as some other reviews have mentioned is very off-putting. I was weary of ordering these due to those reviews but I thought maybe some people are just more sensitive than others. Not the case. Regret buying them. When I opened I noticed the smell a little like tires or some type of rubber. It was concentrated around the elastic so pretty sure that's what it is from. It wasn't too overwhelming so instead of returning I thought I would wash them because it wasn't too bad. Bad mistake. I should have just returned them. They actually smelled worse after washing. Not only that, my washing machine smells like I melted rubber into the drum and after multiple cycles without the sheets I still can't get rid of the smell. Extremely annoyed I am out the money since I can't return them now and they aren't cheap. But even more annoyed I will now have to figure out a way to deep clean my washing machine and hope the smell isn't permanent and my new washing machine isn't ruined. It is now giving me a headache to use my machine and I'm worried to wash anything else because it might make everything smell. I tried to get rid of the smell in the sheets by adding some lavender oil to the wool balls I use in the dryer. It diminished the smell slightly but still giving me a mild headache. The dryer didn't hold the smell as badly as the washer did but that might be because I left the lavender wool balls sitting inside so they are masking it. The feel is fine although I can't speak to the comfort or softness. None of those matter if I can't use them because they smell too strong. The whole point of buying organic was to avoid chemicals and other added substances. I have no interest in sleeping on what smells like a pile of old hot tires. If you are sensitive to smells I urge you not to buy these.
I guess I was expecting the quality of cotton sheets I grew up with. These are not that. They are thin, feeling rather flimsy, and I suspect they will not last all that long. The label fell off even before I washed them which seemed to indicate they were not made with the greatest of care. I didn't pay a great deal of money for them so I guess I can't complain too much. But I really am looking for a heavier grade of cotton, smooth as percale, and sturdy enough to last for several years, like they used to.
I received it yesterday and washed as per instructions. It wrinkled in the wash and the feel is not as smooth as I expected. It is for my grand daughter's sleep over bed. If she complains, I might buy the organic sheets from PBK.
