Great purchase

This is a fantastic towel. It really does a great job of holding in all the water, although I do use a squeegee for my windows, the rest of it I use the towel. There are no labels or harsh edges that can scratch clear coats. Some other reviewers commented that the towel was stiff, I don't know what they got in the mail because it's not what I got apparently. My towel is nice and soft. I have not one complaint.
Update-7/30/18- I recently purchased a Meguiars waffle weave towel because it was a lightning deal and most of the reviews were pretty good. It is half the size of this Viking towel. At its normal price, almost $4 more then this towel, that is corporate greed. The Meguiars also had a tag attached which luckily I spotted and tore off before it scratched the hell out of my paint.
Needless to say after using and washing the Viking multiple times, I'm still very pleased with it and I wish I would have just gotten a second one instead. Economically this is definitely the way to go....and no tags.

So Bad I Wouldn't Give it Away

This product is so bad that I'm honestly questioning if either the product has changed or if folks reviewing it have never used another drying towel. I have a bunch of different towels, from expensive to cheap. My favorite is actually the Meguiar's waffle weave, and then the Rag Company's waffle weave. This one sits around barely used, but I made the mistake of using it again yesterday and was reminding that I had to write a review to let folks know how bad it is.

-it doesn't really dry. Even using a drying (Optiseal) aid w/a rinseless wash, there's a ton of water after 2 passes
-it holds every piece of hair and lint that I didn't even know were in the house, even though I wash them separately
-the entire thing is snagged all over the place
-it leaves lint all of the car (again, this a towel that is washed with other drying towels and hung to dry

The towel is so bad that I thought about giving it to someone, and then decided that it was too bad to give away for free. Just a very poor product all the way around.

Holds a good amount of water and allows streak-free drying on my black car. Only issue is it snags on literally EVERYTHING. I thought people in the other reviews were exaggerating the snagging issue and that I could avoid it by simply being careful. The towel gets caught on small points on the car and literally pulls itself apart. I've used it a handful of times and it's already falling apart. Also note that you'll likely have to wash this on arrival as it has a strong chemical stink once you open the bag - oh, and it bleeds a bit of color onto other towels too.

I'd recommend paying a bit more and getting a better quality microfiber drying towel.

Last year I ordered these waffle weaver towels and thought I'd ordered new ones. Towel is not the same. The older ones are 2 layers thick and very absorbent. These are one layer and are not the same. They are made by the same company "Viking" but are definitely a cheaper quality. Shame on you for miss representing product.

I've been detailing for a while, and this is the least absorbent microfiber towel i've ever used. The large size makes up for it a bit, but it was saturated after just drying the hood. I'm not sure if the thickness changed or not, but this was just purchased 8/2018.

it does what its supposed to do except for a flaw. The weave is to large, threads get caught and they start to pull then it will bunch up. Should call it Unweave towel.

Now pros: it actually holds as much water as other waffle weave microfiber and cotton towels. Cheaper for square inch compared other waffle weave microfiber towels.
Cons: After just two washes it looks like it won't last long -1 star. Don't wash it with other colored microfiber towels, there's a moderate color bleeding - 1 star. It snags easily because of its columns of threads on picture against slightest edge/sharpness on surface and threads get pulled -1 star.
I don't recommend this towel.

The good news : First off , this thing is huge ! I have a Challenger , it's a fairly big car and I can literally sop all the water on the vehicle with this one towel after I've rinsed it . ( I do the wheels separately) Always remember to flood the car before you dry it . It'll drastically cut down on those water spots and cut your drying time in half
The bad news : after a few times in the washer it starts to shred :/

Unfortunately this drying towel was a Christmas gift for my husband, so by the time we opened it, the return window had passed. On its first use, the towel developed loops and loose strings. I have never encountered such a shoddily-made microfibre before. His other towels have stood up to years of weekly use and a few are missing their hems, but none of them have loops or loose strings or tears. I am sadly disappointed.

sucks up water well, but pulled badly on anything with a corner... towel looks like crap after one use... I used the Maguires X2000 towel on the same job and it didn't end up with any pulls...

Mostly Harmless

These are a decent value for the current price (less than $6) and they do a pretty good job of drying a car. However, after a few uses (including washing them), these towels start to get all kinds of snags, loose threads, etc., and don't feel soft anymore either.

I prefer a higher quality towel now, and have actually started buying edgeless towels with no tags, in order to prevent fine scratches in the clear coat from drying. My personal favorite is the Dry Me A River towels at The Rag Company. Really, any of the waffle weave "pluffle" style towels at The Rag Company are great; just go for the 400 GSM 70/30 blend towels made in Korea and pick the size you want. They have great prices too.
