I was hesitant to order a dress I hadn't tried on but the reviews seemed pretty good! I am 5'4 and a size 12/14 and this dress fits great! I ordered a large! The fabric is so soft and I have received a ton of compliments on it!
I had high hopes after getting a Pop Sugar app notification. and reading the Amazo. reviews that this was a great deal. I was really disappointed when I received it. It feels like there is an elastic band at the empire bust position. I’m 5’7” and it drags on the floor. Feels like a flimsy t-shirt. I returned item.
Pros: the color is nice and the material is pretty soft. The pockets are great and the size is let true to standard.
Cons: the material is thin. You can see though it in the light. It's not long enough for tall people. I'm 5'11" and it's pretty short on me. The waistline is awkwardly placed and makes me look pregnant, because of the cut. It's not flattering on me in the slightest.
This dress is okay. It fits pretty well and is comfortable, but the material is really thin. It doesn’t really matter for the bottom as it’s flowy, but it makes the top see-through. I don’t have a large chest, and you can easily see my bra through it, so I would imagine women with large chests would have a big problem. I am keeping it because the bottom is cute, and I can throw a cardigan over the top, or wear a matte nude bra and it’s not very noticible. The sleeves are not too tight, which I sometimes have a problem with in fitted tops. I am 5’ 4” 160, and the meadium was a good length and fit other than the top being sheer.
I was really excited to buy this dress based on the reviews. I am 5'0" and 110 pounds and went with the extra small based on reviews. Most of my fellow shorties said it fit them, so I was hopeful. When I got the dress, it was around 5-6 inches too long. I was pretty disappointed because I'd wanted to wear it for family photos that weekend. But my bigger concern was the smell. It arrived with an overwhelming burnt smell. Strong enough to make me cough! It smells like burnt plastic. I washed it, and the good news is that it shrunk up considerably-- it now perfectly fits my short legs! The bad news is that it still reeks. I've soaked it in Febreze and washed it two more times, and the stink is still there. It worked out for photos, because people can't smell it in a picture, but unfortunately, I can't wear it because the smell is so overwhelming. I'm sure this is a fluke, but be warned! It fits me fine in the chest, but is slightly see-through, so wear a nude bra or a tank top underneath!
Great fit. I’m 5’1 and 160 and a medium fit exactly right. The reason for the three stars is that the dress arrived smelling strongly of chemicals. I washed 4 times before I was able to wear the first time and even then a faint smell lingered. Hopefully after a couple more washes the smell will go away.
I'm not a huge fan of rayon bc it shrinks so much but decided to give this a try. But the fabric is really weird. When it arrived it felt wet and really smelled bad. I hung it up so it could 'dry' and unwrinkle. My biggest surprise when trying it on was how long it is. Maybe that is bc I hung it up overnight but it is long. I am 5'10" and it hits the floor. Which is nice for me but not necessarily for someone shorter. It may also shrink a lot once washed. I was also disappointed to see that I could see my black underwear when bending over. I got the purply grey color. But I am going to keep it as a 'housedress', something to receive friends in and hang on the patio in the summer. Maybe it will keep the mosquitoes from biting my legs. But I don't think I will ever wear it in public. It is very thin and clingy.
This dress is so comfy. I was really surprised that it is actually long enough. I'm 5'9" 175 lbs and the large hits the floor. It is a bit sheer so you'll need to be mindful of what you wear under it.
That being said, the dress I received does not look like the one in the picture. The gray is a DARK heather gray. I'm super disappointed because I really like the soft, light color in the picture. The darker color makes it look like an old, cheap t-shirt. The sleeves are also different. The dress pictured looks like it has little almost cap sleeves. This dress has regular short sleeves like a t-shirt. I will probably return it.
The dress construction is good, and I like the texture of the fabric--a silky knit that isn't shiny, is thin, but not too thin, and I like the color and pattern (turquoise and orange).
What's made it lose some stars? I have one of the versions with large circle medallions. The placement of the circles is so weird--front and back, I have half of the predominant orange circle running up the sides, not meeting, resembling nothing so much as a wonky stripe. In my family, we have this concept of "worthwhile." This dress, as it is, would be worthwhile at $14. At $24? Not so much.
I might as well add that I'm 5'6", and this dress is waaaay too long. As so many others have found, I'm going to have to jerk some knots in the hem, no time for hemming.
Under any other circumstance, it would be returned, but the dress is a last minute addition to my vacation packing, and I've run slam out of time. >:p ... <--Me, blowing a raspberry.
So i thought this would be great. Other reviews made me think it would be perfect. But let me tell you the negatives first. Im 5'2 size l to xl. I went with a large. So I try it on the top fits well but the bottom is so lose, i look like im a bride. If it stopped at my knees probably wouldnt be so bad but its long enough that if need 6" heals to walk around in it. Its also see threw. I had a white bra on and you can still see it, so definitely hear a tank with it, at least with the white one.
Positives about it. It is soft, reathable and had pockets.
But yeah definitely not wearinging this for family photos. So im just going to tiedye this dress and take off 6" and hopefully it will be perfect for me then.
I got the Flower-gypsophila Black dress. It has a lot more red in the flowers than the pictures show but I still really love the pattern. The material is super stretchy and is great for curves. The reason I marked his dress a 3 is because it is made from a material that when stretched has those white lines that show. I am a 5’ 4”, 38C, and weigh 155 lbs. I bought the medium and it fits but on the chest it shows those white lines. Which are see-through. The length of the dress is perfect if I am wearing heals but drags if I’m barefoot or in flats. I highly recommend if you’re over a B cup to order the Large. Though the way the medium fits me I’m not certain a large wouldn’t be too baggy as I am narrow waisted... hope this helps!
