On good note my dog liked these chews, however, I do not feel it helped my baby. I have a 7yr old French mastiff 95lb with hip dysplasia and two ruptured cruiciates. I wanted to try out the hemp oil and ha thinking it may be better for her. After a half month giving these chews, I noticed her slowing down on walking and I could hear her hip popping from a distance. I had to go back to what I was giving her where this wasnt an issue. This may be good for other pups, but just not for mine.
My dog is 15 years old with arthritis and pain in her front and back legs with trouble walking recently. She has been a very active dog walking 2-3x (20-30 mins) a day. Concerned my vet only recommend pain pills for my dog; nope not going to do that..so my friend recommended hemp oil pills based on my dogs weight (nurse practitioner) to help. They pills helped and quickly my dog was back to running and playing...so why the switch to this product. I'm a nervous pet owner so I wanted something created for dogs. I added a turmic pill to the mix and off we went slowing transitioning my dog off hemp to this product. My dog seemed okay buy by week three her legs started to collapse, she could get up off the hard wood/tile floors, had trouble walking and couldn't get in the car to go on rides. I knew then the chewable were not helping her and moves back to the hemp pills after slowing removing these from her diet. She's has a lot more energy and is back to rooming the house to sleep in her dog bed on all three floors of the house. Back to smiling and walking 2-3x a day; playing with her toys as a happy smiling girl and back on the road with car rides. Exercise is very important for dogs with arthritis. Maybe these are meant for dogs with early diagnosis (under 10 yrs old) but for my dog it was a disappointing failure. Check out the amazon 3 pack of hemp oil pills a lot cheaper and effective as long as it doesnt cdb oil that's bad and dangerous for dogs. Do your research and alway consult a doctor if possible; many won't recommend hemp oil for liability. Another grip this company sends email with tips on caring for your dog with hip and joint issues...all of the time and its kinds annoying so beware. Going to see if I can unsubscribe.
Loved the orginal Hemp & hips as did my dogs. I am very disappointed with the replacement product. They removed Turmeric & hemp oil were the ingredients bringing me to this product. They replaced turmeric with devils claw root & spirulina. Both of these may have their values but not what I wanted for my dogs. I would also note they didnt like the taste. the only way I could get them to eat it was crumbled in their food. Noticed to this product seems to NOT breakdown in the digestive system like the previous product , which leads me to believe its probably not as effective. I personally will look for another product that meets my dogs needs. it's a shame as the orginal was a much better product.
I found this product to be lacking. My dog has hip and joint problems. We are always trying different supplements to see what will work best for her. This product didn't show much improvement in her injuries compared to other products I have purchased in the past. I found this one was just "okay". There were no major improvements in my dog's mobility, energy levels, and comfort. I would advise purchasing different supplements. If your dog is a picky eater, do not purchase this product. I had a very hard time getting my dog to take her supplements. There are better products on the market.
Seller made me aware the one for smaller breed would be unavailable for awhile, but larger breed could be used just halved. Also gave a discount so I bought. Noted some minor ingredient changes from small breed, but the important ingredients were present. We'll just have to wait and see. Nice customer service though. ******note****** finally got to the end of my small dog's version and went to this and it was a non-starter. He keeps spitting it out.
We had been using this product for about three months with no issues. We didn't notice a difference in the dogs joint health (both over age 10). Suddenly when we opened a fresh canister and started giving it to them one day they both began to throw up shortly after. They were sick for almost a full week, throwing up. The vomit smell got everywhere in the house even though we did our best to clean their mouths and carpets. We suspect it was a bad batch and is typical of poor quality control. We stopped buying them and they have been doing great.
The flavor in these chews is almost non-existent the other ingredients in this chew overwhelming and there's no flavor my dogs will not eat these I tried others on the market that they love they snubbed their nose at these shoes I have four dogs so I think that my review is more than fair as none of them would eat them
I cannot write a review with all honesty, as the product dose not seem to be doing any good. Our dog is about 13, and has hip a2aa0p? problems. She is a border collie/malamute. She is over weight and the fact that she cannot run like she used to makes it difficult for weight loss. We had her on cosequin and it seemed to work better than this product. Your product is a little cheaper so that is why we decided to give it a try. We give her four a day. We rescued Murphy from our local shelter just about the time they were going to put her down. She is a wonderful dog and we don't want to see her in pain. Maybe we will go back to the cosequin. Thank you for your concern.
My precious dog who has arthritis pain liked the taste of these, but over the past few months I’ve seen no improvements in his relief from his pain. He is now taking meds from our vet and is doing much better. I used this because I thought it would be healthier for him, but I don’t want him to live the rest of his life in pain. So I’ve had to make this decision for his benefit.
My dog would eat it and he is very picky so I give it 2 stars, but after taking these for a month they have been absolutely no help for him. He is very slow getting up and takes him a few steps get going. The only thing that has worked for him has been Dasuquin Soft Chews for Large Dogs with MSM.
