These filters are thicker than the standard Dyson filters. While this sounds like a plus, it actually serves to reduce your performance. I was noticing reduced performance in my Dyson, and I suspected my original filters had reached their limit where washing them was no longer really effective, so I bought new filters. The first time I used it with these filters, it was better but still not normal. I happen to live close to a Dyson service center so I decided to take my unit it. They told me "these non-genuine filters are too thick" -- they were specifically referring to the pre-filter cone that goes in the cyclone area -- and they replaced it with a (free) genuine Dyson pre-filter. Immediately the suction was back to normal. I purchased these because they were less expensive than the genuine Dyson filters but now I wish I hadn't. Since I value suction / performance, a genuine filter would have been better for me. I guess that is the trade off between suction and filtration.
