If I'd listened to all the poor reviews...Id've missed a Great Film!!!!!

Can't believe all of the poor reviews. Not only did Taraji nail her roll, but Tyler Perry made a fantastic film. Many reviewers state that she [Taraji] had it coming to her...should have seen all the signs...etc., etc., but we all know women like this. Not to mention, we all know men like this. Tyler showed a great portrayal of both sides. All the, "I'm sorry baby" to all the reasons many women reason in their own minds to continue to forgive, accept, help - nurture - "stand by their man". Many reviewers seem to have forgotten how vunerable and fragile many can be with first love. Many reviewers seem to have forgotten how devious and sneaky first love can be - how devastating. Remember this relationship starts out when they are in college. Did not appear that there had been a whole lot of experiences for the two outside of their initial relationship. Remember, hind sight is 20/20. You learn from experience. All in all a great film and worth watching.

Another angry, betrayed Black woman story...😐 Hated It!

Mr. Perry I am truly saddened that you made this film. It dramatized the stereotypical myth of the angry and out of control black woman. The film was very difficult to watch from beginning to end. Ms. Henson gives a very strong and committed performance but unfortunately the material she was given in my opinion did her and all black women a disservice and yet again portrayed us as out of control and non-evolved.
All of the characters featured in this movie were stereotypes. I had to force myself to watch the entire movie. I disliked the message given... When will Black women be seen as people who deserve to be loved; worthy of appreciation and not vengeful victims. If it were possible I would have given this film a poorer rating.

Great movie. Heartbreaking.. Love Taraji Henson. She killed it in this role.

This movie should've been based on real life events.
You have family members all in you're ear trying to come between you're relationship!
Taija P Henson played her part very well her sister's warped her mind and she believed everything they were feeding her.
Unfortunately you've got people in the world who unhappy with themselves and their self-esteem is at its lowest.
The sister's got her killed mental illness is real. I know that it's a movie but like I said this is a lot of people's reality...
Very emotional, but suspenseful it's🔥 throughout the whole movie!

The melodrama was characteristic of an episode of Real Housewives. Acting and cinematography were poor and the storyline wasn't believable. After 20+ years this woman takes pity on a man that lied to her and almost gets her killed in college, takes pity on him invites him to her home and somehow over the course of 3 minutes turns a $800K deal to a $75M deal without his knowledge. It's so absurd, it's comical! Here, we're divorced but take this $10M said no man ever. This was just awful. Glad it was free with prime...but sadly I've lost the last 2 hours of my life.

I loved this movie. I keep looking at it over and over. It really shows the depth to betrayal, trust,
love, and vengence when people have been exploited and hurt. When I went to the movie theater
to see this movie, I looked around and saw only three men to about 80 women who were in attendance.
The women were verbally reacting to some of the scenes of betrayal that the main male character
portrayed. "Acrimony" gives life to real cases of how far a person would go when their heart has been deeply wounded and their dreams shattered. This movie, I hope...will serve as a temple and prescription for men who suffer from
"Don't know how to treat a good woman". I sure wouldn't have wanted to be any one of those three men in the audience.
😂😂😂😂😂 I recommend you buy this movie. I bought this movie as soon as it became available on Amazon.
By the way, there are cases where women don't know how to treat a good man too. So, the roles can reverse. At any rate,

Well, most people would’ve have been grateful if they were paid back and damage repaired from someone else’s selfishness and usury to get to the top. But to want that person back is crazy. There’s someone out there for everyone and hopefully this message will wake a lot of people up to know when to run and when they’re being manipulated and used.

This movie was kind of drawn out and depressing. The main character just complained and whined about a man ruining her life. I didn't finish it because i wasn't in the right mood to the negativity. The acting was very good.

A typical Tyler Perry movie that makes no sense, has a poor story line, and make black women look bad. This movie could have been an hour and maybe 15 minutes....but NNNNOOOO it's TWO HOURS LONG!! And for what??? This movie should have ended when Robert apologized to Melinda and gave her a lump sum of the money he made from his product and getting her mother's house back. What could have been an okay story or redemption and forgiveness goes beyond that into a plot that is just all over the place, not like the plot made sense to begin with. I am glad I saw this on amazon, which is included in my prime account, and not wasted my money seeing it in theaters.....not like I would do that anyway, but just saying.

Yes, the acting was very good, especially Taraji. She played an underachiever who fell in love and ultimately became obsessed with the one love of her life. She went through hell for her man. And it changed her into a crazy person. But what's the point of the movie? There is nothing redeeming about it. Good script, good cast but such a DOWNER. I kept watching thinking "it's got to get better". Flawed people living out their lives to a sickening ending is not what I call entertainment. Watching actors ply their trade is not enough reason to waste an afternoon wallowing in muck.
