I live where there are a frequent lighting storms. While I have a new home that is well grounded, a whole house electrical surge suppressor on my Electrical Panel and high end surge suppressors on all my equipment, I have been dealing for years with lighting strikes and surges. My entire LAN and all components where spiked via the outside coaxial cable line into my modem and throughout my hardwired LAN. I had to replace multiple expensive components as a result of the surge traveling through the cable coax. I bought this Tupavco Protector based on its claim that it did not impede my internet speed and would buffer against lighting surges through my home system. I went to the hardware store, purchased a high voltage ground wire, connected it to the Protector ground wire, ensured the Protector was properly grounded and plugged in the CAT 5 cables into my Cable Modem. Fantastic results! After multiple lighting strikes, power outages and surges , I have had no issues. In fact, my components recover quicker post any black out. I tested my intent speed and the Protector did not impact my internet speed. I am very happy with this product.
