Considering I was born in the 90s, I love Toy Story. However, this was purchased without me knowing and prompted me to set a password on my toddler's fire tablet (didn't know she could buy stuff anyway). I like the movie, but the price is CRAZY for ONE film over 20 years old with 3 sequels.
Lately, my 2 year old and 5 year old have been addicted to watching ALL of the toy story movies. We love them! I even enjoy watching them with them. Let’s face it, toy story will never get old! It will always be a great movie for our littles! We now have all the little woody, and buzz light year figures! Boys!
This is such a fun movie and a true childhood classic... My daughter (5) loves it and, like so many of the Disney movies of more recent vintage, there are just enough snarky adult-oriented references to keep me entertained also. The cast is incredible, and the story is sweet and thoughtful with a great message. An all-around hit!
I am convinced that all kids probably enjoy this movie. If you are an adult that remotely enjoys kids movies, than you won't mind this one. Heck, you might even like it, and there are far worse movies to sit through with your child than Toy Story.
i wanted to watch this on my t.v., but , i could only get it on my PC, which has no speakers. my grandson was very disappointed. i won't be using any of the videos again, which is a shame, but have no way to get it to come on my t.v. what a waste of money, when i'm a senior citizen.
The movie jumps leaps and bounds with the BD version. If you have a BD player and HDTV there is no reason you should still be playing that 16 year old DVD! :)
I have not tried the 3D version yet. Please see other reviews.
The Digital Copy is in SD, and poor SD at that. It's made to be small and only take 1 GB of space on your phone/tablet. I haven't confirmed this version, but I've read some Digital Copies audio is actually duplicated mono to both the Left and Right channels so people wearing one earbud will hear all the sound. I recommend using Handbrake to *coughRIP* your DVD movie onto your device if space is less an issue.
If you are running iTunes sharing in your home, you could even put the full *coughRIP* DVD movie on your computer/iTunes server to stream higher quality SD to your tablets/devices.
Growing up in the 90's and now having 4 kids of my own I have wanted to show them the wonderfully ancient world on the VHS. No movie was better to start with then Toy Story. I expected a grimy old vhs the may not work but boy I was so wrong!! The movie was still in its original case and in the original plastic! It played like a dream and everything was just how I remembered. My children watch it on a regular basis now and I love getting to share my old memories with them! This movie was a super great way for a blast to the past. The friendships created and the adventure in itself just makes Toy Story a forever favorite in my home!
Digitally i could get a copy on itunes and VUDU. This studio is doing the right thing that allows me to watch the movie and not have to juggle 600 apps on where i need to watch the movie. If i own the movie i should also receive a digital copy on any provider. If i shell out 15-20 for a movie when everyone else is stealing them digitally i should be rewarded for it. Disney is doing the right thing by Disney Movies Anywhere.
Update: I contacted Amazon about this issue. They were so helpful and sent me a new copy of the movie with the digital code! We were really pleased. And my grandson loves Toy Story! It’s his new favorite movies. I change my rating from one star to five!
I specifically paid more for the blue ray that included the digital code. My son uploads those to his “movies anytime” file on his Roku. But this did not have the card with the digital code. I would like to ask the seller why that was not included. Of course, Toy Story is always good but we don’t have the ability to pull it up digitally!
