I like that the case opens in the correct direction (right to left like a book), however, this still means that you have to place the kindle upside down in order for it to correctly fit the camera. This is not a HUGE deal for most apps as you can just turn on automatic screen rotation, but it does mean that your power button and volume controls end up on the bottom when using the Kindle in portrait mode. Additionally, there are some apps that end up being upside down because that's just how they were designed.
Overall, the case is durable and sturdy. It works for what you need it for, but important to realize that it is upside down. Unfortunately, this appears to be the "case" for the Kindle Fire 8 from multiple retailers.
