An ADORABLE, very young Audrey Hepburn with (a little too old) Gary Cooper, and the always charming Maurice Chevalier in a playful, entertaining, film, Written & Directed by the incomparable Billy Wilder. A truly delightful film! It will make you laugh and cry, it's just a great old movie!
I ordered this product and the picture on amazon shows the stars names in English, and Amazon says the language is English, but the actual DVD has the names of the stars and the description on the back in an Asian language. Plus I ordered 3 other movies with it and only one of them is undamaged.
This movie is a beautiful classic about young love. I watched first as a tween and felt horrible. After my high school romance soured, I watched it and it broke my heart even more. As an adult, I think it's still timeless, however I felt a very different reaction. If you are a person of faith or not, it really speaks to the basic values of love and relationships. I'm tired of people living together for years and years. It's my opinion and it may not be very reasonable. Living with one foot out-the-door is a balancing act that most fail at. Watch the movie and form your own opinion, respectfully. Love is messy and sometimes very wonderful. Even both.
This is great! All four movies are classics worth adding to your collection. If you know these movies or even if you haven't seen any of them it will be easy for you to figure out why they became classics. The sound and picture quality is good. I recommend these DVD's.
Love in the afternoon is an outstanding and well casted comedy which we greatly enjoyed. Audrey Hepburn was wonderful and it reminds us that old movies are often the best. We has not watched the other movies.
Splendor in the grass: Is a totally forgettable movie, I didn't hold much hope in it from the beginning, (I dislike Warren Betty) but it sounded interesting, nope the most interesting point is where the girl throws herself onto a waterfall, (you know she will be saved because there is still an hour and a half in this awful movie) Love in the Afternoon: Was simply delightful, (the reason I bought this movie pack) it was thoroughly enjoyable and had me at the edge of my seat towards the end (not going to ruin it) Mogambo: Was fast moving like the animals they were hunting. I'm not an Eva Gardener fan, (but after this movie I might have to review my position) Princess Grace shines (as usual) its a hilarious Rom-Com Now Voyager: I had such high expectations for this movie, it stars Bette Davis! This movie crushed them all, I was bored throughout the runtime, I didn't care about her "romance" (affair) with Paul Henreid.
