Amazon.com: Customer reviews: TACKLIFE T8 MAX Jump Starter - 1000A Peak 20000mAh, 12V Car Jumper (All Gas, up to 6.5L Diesel Engine), Auto Battery Booster, Portable Power Pack with Smart Jumper Cables, Storage Case
I let the battery completely drain on purpose by leaving the headlights on to test out this battery charger. I have a full size Chevy Silverado with a V8 and this jump starter started the truck right away. Very impressed with this device. No longer would you have to wait for someone to come by with jumper cables or another vehicle.
This is my second one I have the smaller one which I use daily I'm specialized automotive repair every day this is used Weatherby to stream music talk on the phone or whatever this after owning the other one for over a year I absolutely think this is the finest out there it's been dropped accidentally more than once still works perfectly fine plan to get a couple for Christmas gifts as I did last year with a smaller unit love this product!!! I would highly recommend!!
Bought this product. Fully charged and left in the car for emergency. After about 1.5 months, tried to use and did not work. It just beeps and light just blinks. Contacted Tacklife support for warranty and so far only responded with one email asking what is wrong and I sent them a response detailing its defects. Still waiting for a response after 5 days and counting. I sent another response just to follow up and finally they responded that they will send a replacement.
Just an update. So, a total of 9 days to get my part replaced with the warranty. I received my replacement and everything seemed to be working at this time. I was glad that they replaced the defective item and I did not have to send it back because it would have been more inconvenience. So, with that I increased the rating from 1 star to 4 stars.
So far my only qualm is with the instruction booklet. The print is so small that I can't even read it with my reading glasses, except in bright light. I ordered one of those credit card-sized magnifiers to slip in the booklet (found a set of 4 high quality ones for $4.99. Can start a fire with one, too). I think a lot of these booklets are created by people too young to understand that that will be a problem for most after the age of 40. Especially in emergency situations where there is little light and higher stress. Also, the information regarding the LED flashlight is wrong. For that you need to hold down the power button, not the warning button. And there are four selections, including the off, not three. I think there was some cut and pasting that went awry when it was written. So far, everything else is fine. But have yet to use it in an emergency situation. It is compact and solid. Looks well built. Nice case that everything fits into. The cables are thicker than most other kits, which is nice. It's also nice that you can charge it in your car as you would a cell phone with the cigarette lighter, so I think they said it's a bit slower that way.
I will say this about my jump box. It awesome. It quick charge 3.0 my phone. I have a habit of dying phone. And I was looking at something where I don't have to have to much stuff in my car. I have 2 jump box. This one and a beatit one . i love this one. Another reason I choose this. Cuz of the dc port. I have a heated jacket and I plug this up and i stay warm . which is awesome and it last longer than the oem battery it came with. The case hold everything quite well. I had use it today which to my suprise is very easy . plug the adapter to battery and than plug to battery box. And it lights up telling me it ok or not. Which let me know I should get one for my mom . that way i know she know how to use. This bad boy started a v8 dodge hemi up like nothing . so yes it will do quite well with our 4 cylinder imports.
update as of 4/12/2019 had a little issue with the jump box. contacted tacklife awhile back. and they contacted me back fast n quick and next think i know they sent me a new one. they stand behind there product n made sure everything was alright.. love a company who standbehind they product n honor they warranty
When I was a kid, I remember my dad had a battery charger and an extra battery for his truck. Not exactly portable. Ain't technology grand?! I ordered this guy after some quick review-checking in response to a dead 08 Honda Civic battery the night before. I grabbed the package off the porch when I got home, unwrapped it in the driveway and jumped the car in about the same space of time it would take me to make a cup of coffee with my Keurig. Brilliant! I'm going to buy one more for my Jeep GC EcoDiesel. The case with accessories by itself is worth the price, even if the jumper only worked on car batteries. The flashlight is aces. It actually rivals the Maglite I keep in all my vehicles. I'm charging my phone using one of the two output USB ports as I type. I'm going to use the DC adapter and plug it in to my portable air compressor. If that works, I can die and go to heaven.
I received this yesterday so my review is based on the performance for one day.
When i opened the box i was very impressed with case that the kit came in. It is a solid hard case and very attractive. Black with orange trimmings. It has double zippers and the inside has a padded compartment that hold the battery secure from any sort of movement. It also has a nylon/velvet feeling flap that covers the battery and protects it from being damaged by the other accessories in the case. The top inside cover of the case has a zippered nylon mesh compartment that stores the battery charger and the alligator clamps that connect to the battery terminal. The battery also has 2 USB ports and flash lights.
This battery came charged showing 3 bars and i used it straight out of the box. I drive a 1998 Mitsubishi Pajero. I took the battery out of the vehicle and connected the Tacklife T8 Max directly to the battery connectors. I turned on the T8 and the green indicator came on. I pressed the boost button and turned the ignition. The van started without a hitch as if it was connected to the car battery. I am very impressed. This thing can start a vehicle even if there is no battery in it. WOW.
As i said this is just a first time use so i will see how it hold up over time with usage and the heat of the Caribbean. That is why I only gave it 4 stars. Very impressed so far. My wife immediately requested one for her vehicle. I will definitely recommend this product.
I used this to replace an older power pack that was no longer charging after 6 or 8 years. This charger is about 1/3 the size and weight of the older charger and worked well out of the box. I charged it over night and this morning used it to charge the '92 3/4 ton ford ( 5.8L). After sitting for most of the winter with just a single start up, the battery would hardly turn over. This thing jumped it immediately. It is simple to use; charge the unit, connect to proper terminals and crank on the ignition. It also has two usb ports, a flashing red and a white light. The white light is either a continuous flashlight, a slow flashing light, or flashing S.O.S in the third position. Nice, powerful and compact unit. As an update... Days Later... I also recently jumped a 350 GMC '91 pickup. It had also sat over winter without being started for several months. It did Not start immediately. There was a bit of excess corrosion on the battery terminals. Once this was remedied, the truck started right away. Just remember, once a battery is truly DEAD, you cannot jumpstart it, you will have to replace it.
I like that it holds a charge for a log time. I charged it when I got it in July and jumped my side by side 3 times and it still shows a full charge. I would have given it 5 stars but haven’t gone through a winter with it yet.
So I finally got a chance to put it to the test. Some lady's VW Bug had died out in the middle of the street. I walked over with this brand new battery. I clamped the red on the positive, yet the leads are so short and the battery inside of a VW bug is awkwardly placed to where you can barely reach the spot to place the black lead! To make it work one person has to hold the portable battery just above the vehicle battery while someone else connects the leads. So I guess the only downside to this thing is the leads are short and depending on the placement of the battery, it can be difficult to connect But the good part is, I never had charged the portable battery. It had 2 blue lines on the battery. But it still was enough to jump the Bug! Thus the 5 star rating.
