Just when I think John could not write a better book than his last, he proves me wrong again. Every book in this series is better than the last. Although the series builds off the other books, each are easily read as a stand alone novel. You really don't need to read the others to understand what is happening, although you probably will want to. By reading the other books in the series, you gain a better understanding of how the characters think, and the reasons why they do things the way they do. Every character (even the nasty ones) are so real, you feel you have known them forever. When an author creates characters you can really become invested in (as John does), you truly care what happens to them, and root for them to succeed. As an advanced reader, I have the opportunity to enjoy these books prior to publication. As soon as they are available, I immediately buy a copy. I heartily recommend you do the same. Go ahead, press the "Buy" button. I promise you will not regret it.
I'm so hooked on this series that Mr. Mefford cannot publish the books fast enough. This book resumes where the last Ozzie story left off. Although it's considered an Alex Troutt story, the point of view alternates between Alex and Ozzie, which I found enjoyable. The action is rapid, and the surprises continue until the very end. This book could stand alone, but will be appreciated much more by those who have been following the series. Alex and Ozzie have developed a great platonic relationship, and I'm anxious for Ivy Nash to show back up to see how everything will tie together. This is by far my favorite current series.
If you like Alex and you like Ozzie, put them together and you have one terrific read! John Mefford's Redemption series just keeps getting better.
Bombs go off at aid stations along the course of the Boston Marathon. One of Alex's closest friends is critically injured. She is virtually kept out of the investigation by the head of the task force - arguably the worst Special Agent in the FBI. But her boss knows that nothing will keep her from investigating, so he give her his OK to do her own thing. Since rest of her team is pulled into the Task Force, Alex calls on Ozzie to team up with her - and what a team they make!
Can they find the person behind the bombings before it's too late?
At Stake is a buffet to the reader that meets all the things a reader could wish for in the Redempton Thriller Series books, and that is beause John Mefford has the gift of masterful writing. He has mastered his writing craft in every book in The Redemtion Thriller books! What a huge accomplishment and a what a gift to the reader. Thank you once again Mr. Mefford for your dedication to your art. May you write forever. I HIGHLY recommend AT Stake to any reader and rest assured the reader will discover this masterful Author. A MUST READ for sure! Terrorists, to insidious politics in the FBI to Alex Troutt and Ozzie and family attacks they must endure while trying to solve the crimes.
I have read everyone of these books in this series, and I don't see how John tops himself in the next one, but he always does! I love that Alex is back in this book, but feel for her in the things that happen. She has been through a lot! But she has her friends to rally behind her and her family to help keep her head on straight and give her the reason to continue the fight. Don't miss out on the latest story! Get yours now, you won't be disappointed!
I have read all of the books in the Redemption thriller series and, I must say, this is the most thrilling, convoluted one yet. From the bomb going off at the Boston Marathon wounding Nick and countless others, to Alex's final showdown with the most diabolical villain of all time, the book is full of twists, turns, and more action than you can shake a stick at. Then, there is the kicker at the end that leaves you hanging and begging for the next book.
This is another book in the continuing series Redemption. How John Mefford can create the next book that is better than the one before is beyond me. At Stake with Alex Troutt and Ozzie together has to be the best yet. But then I feel that way about each book. The twists and turns that Alex and Ozzie face are simply astounding. You will be glued to this book until you finish it. Mefford leaves you at the end of the book simply wanting more. This series is a must read. John Mefford does not disappoint with any of the series. Start now so you can enjoy such excellent reads.
Once again John Mefford hit it out of the park with a 5 star hit. How you keep coming up with these new twists to an already great series of “AT” novels is amazing You make it difficult for me to put the book down. The twists and turns keep me turning pages til late at night and sometimes into the morning. It was great to see that Alex was back in the series and together with Ozzie, who is in Boston hiding from certain sources he encountered is the last book, he's staying with Alex and together they make for a great adventure.. Great read as usual.
A great mystery/thriller with an exciting storyline and excellent well developed characters (Ozzie and Alex) that the reader can invest in. Contains plenty of suspense, several twists and turns, non-stop action, and a cliffhanger ending. A very exciting thriller that was hard to put down. I highly recommend this book, series, and author. Definitely ready for the next book in this series.
Alex and Ozzie, an FBI agent and a private investigator consulting with the agency, are thrust into a confusing mess. A bombing at the Boston Marathon, similar to the first one in 2013. As they dive in, murders occur that appear to somehow be related. A fast moving thriller. The series is truly worthy, yet each novel stands well on its own. Looking forward to more.
