I have read several books by this author duo and absolutely loved them all! I loved this one too. In parts, it is laugh out loud funny. It's just amazing. The twists and turns - some of them were shocking! It has a great cast of characters including foul-mouthed, lewd imps, "good" witches, "freaking awesome" witches, a psychic guru type in tune with the universe, very "wicked" witches, a "wicked" witch trying to be a "good" witch, bad guys, ghosts, and an assortment of insects and animals. I'm going to read it again! I like to see more books about these witches in the future Just read this book. Enjoy the silliness, the comradery, the witch battles, the imps, the seeming coincidences, and more!
Not for people who are annoyed by strong sexual references and jokes. The imp is definately the person at this party to make you accidentally blow your drink up your nose with his unexpected funny commentary. As an 'evil' witch, Jenny (our formost main character), has the required imp companion who does his best (or worst, as the occasion demands) to suggest fun evil activities to his witch who doesn't really have much of a taste for evil. Much of the plot circles around this concept and what really is a 'good witch' and, as there aren't any other evil witches at the seminar, who could be the culprit?
Do you like laughing? Enjoy witnessing people overcoming their literal personal demons/imp? Are you looking for some new insults to add to your repertoire? If the answer to any of the above is yes then I definitely recommend A Spell in the Country! Another hilarious book from the writing duo of Heide Goody and Iain Grant.
I loved Jenny and her outrageously naughty imp Jizzimus! Their attempts to keep Jenny's wicked witch tendencies a secret were ingenious. This book is essentially a comedy but there are some dark moments as well with some truly terrifying demons!
I have come to expect great things from these authors; once again, they deliver big time. Their signature style of writing is apparent from the beginning; story well-written, easy to follow. Thank you guys!!
This book is cheeky, quirky and just laugh out loud funny! The different characters of the witches are well defined and captivating. The 'imp' is the most lovably, vile character ever! I absolutely loved witch school!!!! More please!
