This item is a fake. I've encountered others, but this is the first on Amazon. There are others, so beware. It initially reports the proper storage size, then once written to it usually crashes. You can try to reformat it and it will not work. Stick to name brands.
Eaxctly as described. Great value. Holds all my documents and ebooks without issue. I use it in my Amazon Fire 7 tablet. I had to format it when I first inserted it. The Fire 7 walked me through it with no problems. It works perfectly AND has the storage capacity it says it has, unlike other brands I've purchased in the past. I have it set to save all my downloads and photos to it. Exactly what I needed. Very happy, will be purchasing more for my other devices.
After a few weeks, nothing recognizes it. My GoPro, my other GoPro, my FatShark goggles, my card reader for iMac, etc. Nothing will read it. I wrote manufacturer on here and no response. It has been about a week since then. Please just buy a Samsung chip and be done with it!
I liked everything about it except that it died in my phone after a few weeks of use. I mean completely dead as in you can't even connect it to a PC and still see it just completely dead its almost mind boggling how unreliable it was.
Bought last week to moveall of my photos, music and data to since my internal memory on my Samsung Galaxy was full. Transfered the data the way I have done many times moving it in the phone file explorer from internal memory to SD card. Not even a week later and it is all gone from the card - no where to be found. Lost all of the photos from our 2 week vacation to Europe which were luckily backed up on the cloud. Spend the extra $7 and get a Samsung or Scandisk - this is complete garbage!
Like others here worked for a couple weeks in my phone then poof! doesn't even show up as storage anymore. Lost over a thousand downloads from YouTube, first said videos didn't exist then card disappeared altogether. Gonna stick with name brands, a few more dollars but at least no worries. Luckily all my photos from camera are backed up in multiple cloud accounts, computer backup and original 32gb card that I swapped out for this junk. Buyer beware, it's not worth saving a few bucks.
I saw a lot of people report that this Micro SD doesn't report the correct sizes, and I had the same issue. However, I tried the micro SD card in my phone and found that it was in fact 128GB, 115.64GB after reserved. I then tried a few other adapters for my PC and found that the adapter was at fault, not the card itself.
I tried this with a Sandisk SD card and got the same errors until I put it in my working adapter or in my phone.
Speed is decent though you have to keep in mind, something the other reviewers might not know, is that their are a lot of factors that play into the speed of this device. Are you using a USB 2.0 or 3.0 slot? Is your Adapter USB 2.0 or 3.0 compatible? What files are you transferring? For me when I transferred 25GB worth of files its speed was a consistent 10MB/s (With spikes) over a USB 2.0 adapter in a USB 3.0 slot which is generally what the lower speed rated cards should do.
So if the card isn't reporting its full size, try your phone or a different adapter. The cheap adapters I was using were able to report accurate sizes for 32GB or under but for cards 64GB and higher it caused problems. Also don't just run a benchmark and determine that's the speed of the card. Different files impact performance and USB versions impact performance and a benchmark doesn't substitute actually using the device to determine its speed.
Product worked fine until I unplugged it from my phone. It began to violently corrupt my data and then had connection issues with my PC. Had this for a little over a month. It seems that it has no protection against not ejecting safely. If you buy this product, be warned that you MUST eject safely. I had 20GB of files on mine and alot of them were corrupted. If you don't remove this product from your device or you are one of the few that safely eject, you will find it to be decent quality. For me however, I unfortunately will not be buying another one for fear of more data loss.
