This item is a fake. I've encountered others, but this is the first on Amazon. There are others, so beware. It initially reports the proper storage size, then once written to it usually crashes. You can try to reformat it and it will not work. Stick to name brands.
Reasonably priced. Seems to be reliable and as fast as other more well named brands, just had one incident where the card disappeared from showing up on my computer, but there's a chance that could be a wire or connection issue not the card. Had a few VR headset crashes, but that could be the headset or apps fault. 128gb Card shows 117 gb useable with 11gb non useable buffer for those calculating actual usage space.
Eaxctly as described. Great value. Holds all my documents and ebooks without issue. I use it in my Amazon Fire 7 tablet. I had to format it when I first inserted it. The Fire 7 walked me through it with no problems. It works perfectly AND has the storage capacity it says it has, unlike other brands I've purchased in the past. I have it set to save all my downloads and photos to it. Exactly what I needed. Very happy, will be purchasing more for my other devices.
I saw a lot of people report that this Micro SD doesn't report the correct sizes, and I had the same issue. However, I tried the micro SD card in my phone and found that it was in fact 128GB, 115.64GB after reserved. I then tried a few other adapters for my PC and found that the adapter was at fault, not the card itself.
I tried this with a Sandisk SD card and got the same errors until I put it in my working adapter or in my phone.
Speed is decent though you have to keep in mind, something the other reviewers might not know, is that their are a lot of factors that play into the speed of this device. Are you using a USB 2.0 or 3.0 slot? Is your Adapter USB 2.0 or 3.0 compatible? What files are you transferring? For me when I transferred 25GB worth of files its speed was a consistent 10MB/s (With spikes) over a USB 2.0 adapter in a USB 3.0 slot which is generally what the lower speed rated cards should do.
So if the card isn't reporting its full size, try your phone or a different adapter. The cheap adapters I was using were able to report accurate sizes for 32GB or under but for cards 64GB and higher it caused problems. Also don't just run a benchmark and determine that's the speed of the card. Different files impact performance and USB versions impact performance and a benchmark doesn't substitute actually using the device to determine its speed.
My first experience with SP products. It reads/writes quick. It fails to recognize about 3 out of 5 times device is powered on or woken from sleep. Its better than a $13 microcenter card but really for the hassle, you might as well spend $4 more and get a samsung evo card that will have 0 issues ever. Card comes Fat32 formatted, required to be reformatted to ntfs to load movies larger than 4gb onto it.
I got the 128GB card was worried about some other reviews saying the capacity is fake, so I did a test - transferred about 110 GB video files to the card and tested the videos are playable, no problem. I then format the card using my camera, it is used for 4k video shooting and pictures in RAW format. So far so good.
I've been using Silicon Power SDcards and SSD Drives for many years.. They have all been Extremely Dependable, delivering the FASTEST speeds in the given price range.. This particular SDcard even is the new A2 standard, which you don't find anything with A2 for this price point.. All the others cost at least 13-20% more..
I bought this because my other 64gb micro SD card somehow ended up write protected permanently and nothing anyone tried to do fixed it. This was horribly annoying as I used it for my phone and needed the space for media.
I was excited to receive the package. As you can see, it came in one piece, unopened and undamaged. It contains 1 64gb micro sd card, one card adapter and a carrying case.
I put it in my phone and it was set up in seconds. All I had to do was format it for my device and violá! I was back to being able to use my phone as God intended: for music, photos, and videos.
This card os very fast with transfers even though I have a budget phone. It works great for my HD pics and I have not had any problems so far.
I registered it for the warranty of course, just in case, but as of this review it has been a spectacular find. Much better than I thought it would be for the price. I will definitely be buying more for my other devices!
