I can’t even express this enough, I love this book! Being a mother, a wife, sister, friend, daughter, and etc. this book speaks volumes of the God given dreams into my life and to pause, reflect, and to be encourage. I highly recommend this book!
What a wonderful book about finding and discovering dreams and following what God is putting in your heart. It's a very encouraging uplifting read. Ms. Bluhm has an easy to read writing style full of personal stories. She is relatable. I did wish there was more scripture. When talking about dreams God must be at the forefront and I felt like there could have been a better balance of scripture and commentary. I did love the study guide book and wish there was a hybrid. Two books in one type deal... that would make it more powerful and easier to walk through if everything was in one book. It's a great starting point to work through dreams for sure. Great for teens, young women, new believers, and those who aren't sure where they feel God leading them. I received a copy of these books from the author as part of the launch team. I was under no compulsion to write a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
Tiffany Bluhm, the author of She Dreams, is also a dreamer of what she calls "God-size" dreams. As a child abandoned at birth, and with many challenges in her life, it would be understandable if she became bitter and depressed as an adult. Tiffany, however, has become a positive, driving force for women and their life dreams. Throughout She Dreams, are two powerful messages: Trusting in God and His Son Jesus Christ is crucial, because God-sized dreams, "encourage us to be the person God created us to be." Also, as women, we have Godly women as role models who, throughout history, have had God-sized dreams and been able to achieve amazing success in their lives through their faith and their drive. She Dreams is a positive challenge to women. Tiffany recognizes that women in the past have been discouraged or denied the opportunity to achieve their dreams. Today however, the doors for women are open wider than they have ever been and often the only thing keeping women from achieving their dream is their own fear. Tiffany does a fabulous job of addressing the many issues that we may face in pursuing dreams. Just a few are: Failure - it is an option and it's how we learn, so keep on going!Excuses - "I can't do this," or "You can't do that," from ourselves as well as other "well intended" people. How do you eat an elephant? ONE BITE AT A TIME! In other words, work on your dream one step at a time.Age - You are never too old to make a difference. (THAT'S a good thing!) Tiffany uses many Godly, Christian women in She Dreams, including herself, as well as personal friends. I believe her personal story is one of the most powerful, however. Her life story goes from heart wrenching to amazing. She Dreams is a great book for women who dream. Which - I believe - is all of us, ladies! The only issue I had with the book, and the reason for less than five stars, is that Tiffany uses several women as examples who are not what most would consider "Godly, Christian role models." She also uses the story of Moses' life and - while it is a wonderful and amazing story of dreams come true - Moses is a man. It might have been better possibly if she used a strong Biblical woman as the main example in the book.
Dreams. We all dream but for many women their dreams are put on hold for a variety of reasons: marriage, children, parents, jobs. Tiffany Bluhm in "She Dreams" encourages women to follow their dreams. Bluhm writes that women are created "on purpose with a purpose." As a woman I need to trust God and believe in the dreams he has created for me. Bluhm uses the story of Moses as the Biblical background to build her case of how God cares for each of us and wants the best for us including following the dreams He has given each woman. I found this book to be encouraging and uplifting. There is also a Bible study guide to go with the book. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Abingdon Press and was under no obligation to post a review.
I received this book on my Kindle for the purpose of review.
As I began this book I was honestly resistant to continue reading it. However, as I purposed to get through at least one chapter, I found her thought processes and suggested actions to be quite practical and helpful.
I agree with her principle of moving forward with your dream and never give up, which is That is easier said than done but I do believe in finishing what you start. So, in that respect I can certainly readily endorse this book. Good read, very practical and I would especially recommend it to anyone at any age but would strongly suggest it be read by a college student and above.
I myself was prompted to move forward with my own dream even though late in life.
Everyone has dreams that want to achieve. Women tend to not follow their dreams due to life circumstances: Marriage, Kids, Family, etc.
Author Tiffany Bluhm tells us in this book that there is never a end to following our God Given Dreams. God wants everyone to live their life to the fullest and we need to conquer the obstacles that are in the way. We need to stop mentioning the excuses and instead rely on God to move the mountains and allow us to follow him to achieving the dreams. Dreams are always achievable with God as your guide!
In her book, She Dreams, Tiffany Bluhm talks about the dreams that God has placed in our hearts. Throughout her book, she shares personal stories of how she has pursued the God-sized dreams that she has and how she worked through hindrances to those dreams. Overall, this is an encouraging book that inspires readers to follow their dreams.
She Dreams is an encouraging book for Christian women that explores pursuing your dreams. Written in a conversational manner, Bluhm utilizes the story of Moses as well her own to encourage the reader to pursue the dreams that God has sewn within your heart.
While this complimentary book was provided for review by Abingdon Press, no other compensation was given. All remarks are my personal and honest opinion.
She Dreams is a beautifully written book. Encourages the reader to dream with God and to not be afraid to go after those dreams. It was easy to read and enjoyable. I've not heard of this author before this book but I will be sure to look for more of her works.
