5.0 out of 5 starsBoth Environmentally and baby friendly
March 18, 2018
These diapers have treated us well! They are comfy, work well, soft and cute. Aside from amazon mama bear, they are usually the cheapest, semi-environmentally-friendly diaper. We have used these for about a year and tried mama bear - we like these better despite the slightly higher cost. We had less issue with diaper rash and less issue with any leakage. These seem to be better fitted to our kiddo’s shape. I also don’t like the waist on the mama bears (although if you like huggies you might feel otherwise). I appreciate that seventh generation set the standard that amazon has to beat and, in my opinion, they haven’t done it yet. So I will continue to fund seventh generation in hopes that they keep innovating!

For further info: We’ve gone thru 6 brands in total and some cloth diapers bc I bargain hunt. Bambo and babyganics but I like these better. New Bambos are outrageously expensive and I just can’t justify it. Babyganics feel like they are made of cardboard and i had to crumple them before putting them on my baby to soften them up. Pampers were great for our newborn but pretty awful for the environment and didn’t offer anything that seventh generation doesn’t. And I didn’t like the huggies at all since they’d leak on our baby and leach chemicals in the landfill.

1.0 out of 5 starsNot what they used to be!
November 28, 2016
I've used seventh generation diapers for 6 years now and have loved every one until now!! These diapers are not what they used to be! They are thin...don't hold! They are also white on the inside....they say no bleach but then how are they white?? I want the original diapers back!!! I've posted pictures of the "new" improved diapers next to the old ones...

Marc Chan
5.0 out of 5 stars4th child and very satisfied with this brand so far
January 27, 2019
Style: DiapersSize: Size 1Verified Purchase
So far our experience is with size Newborn and size 1. This is the fourth child, and there is a lot of diaper changing experience in our household- from old school cloth diapering to all brands of diapers. We're surprised by the negative reviews, and this prompted us to share our thoughts. We will update as we move through sizes.

Full disclosure, we used Huggies the first couple weeks due a medical issue keeping us in and out of the doctor's office and hospital with our little one. Having the pee notification line on the Huggies helped with the constant tracking of how many wet/soiled diapers our newborn had each day, but as soon as we could, we started using 7th Gen. We have been quite happy with performance. They certainly were no worse or better than the Huggies for leaks (both were much better than the other brands we sampled here and there), but we saw far fewer onsets of rashes once we switched.

We called newborn size "newborn and a half" because they were slightly larger than the other brands, but still smaller than all brands of size 1. (Maybe this is where an issue arises for some people.)

We did grab a pack from Target and ended up with the older design. Those were smaller- comparable to the other brands. We like the new design much more.

The inked designs are cute, but we buy these for performance, baby skin health, and environment. Honestly, we'd probably still buy them if they were an ugly brown. We do understand why they make them look cute for aesthetics and marketing purposes, but that is not necessarily a "bonus" for us.

Honestly
4.0 out of 5 starsNot the same as size 1 & 2 from Target
July 21, 2018
Style: DiapersSize: Size 3Verified Purchase
I almost returned these but didn't due to hassle. I'd been using seventh gen diapers from Target for sizes 1 & 2 but I ordered these in size 3 and they are very different. I don't know if I got scammed or if size 3 is just made differently, which I suppose is its own special kind of scam all by itself. These have a more papery, whispy outer layer and are much less soft than what I was buying at target. I tried to use them before we started solids but... 3+ blowouts a day, major "wash the carseat or the boppy" blowouts. We are trying them again now that we started solids.

UPDATE!
I increased to 4 stars now that we are on solids and the baby is more... Solid. I've gotten used to the differences in this diaper than the size 1 and 2, but I do miss them. It's not super soft but it is a very flexible diaper. It's the most flexible of the health conscious brands in my opinion. I like that baby can move and groove. I am actually ordering again.

5.0 out of 5 starsAs far as "natural" disposable diapers go, these are the cheapest I've found.
November 11, 2018
Style: DiapersSize: Size 6Verified Purchase
After almost 2 years of no issues using Target brand Up and Up diapers, my daughter got a horribly painful, persistent rash that we initially thought was due to yeast or acidic teething diarrhea. After all my usual fail proof creams and remedies failed to work, we began thinking maybe she developed an allergy to her wipes or diapers. Worth mentioning, a month or two prior, Target added the wetness indicator stripe to their diapers we used.

We switched to Water Wipes (instead of Pampers Sensitive we'd always used), used colloidal silver in a spray bottle (soothing, she'd ask us to apply more, prevents infection, speeds healing), and got a pack of Seventh Generation diapers. Within a day of making those changes, the irritation seemed to lessen, diaper changes and wiping weren't inflicting pain, and her skin began to heal. Within about 4 days, her skin was almost back to normal after having been torn up for about 10 days.

After her broken skin healed, we reintroduced the Pampers Sensitive Skin wet wipes and she did fine. We kept using the Seventh Generation Diapers, but ran out at one point and had to use a leftover Up and Up diapers until we picked up more locally. Her skin was obviously red and irritated after only 2 hours in one of the Target diapers. Even most Huggies diapers irritate her skin after a short time. We think chlorine is the culprit, but aren't sure.

The only downside to this brand of diapers is cost, limited coupon availability and compared to other brands largest size boxes, these have less diapers. However, we don't have much of an option since we refuse to use products our child is obviously allergic to. As far as "natural" disposable diapers go, these are the cheapest I've found.

5.0 out of 5 starsBest diapers

If you have a heavy middle of the night pee-er.. these are for you!!! They are the ONLY diapers my son doesn’t pee through. He’s two and I used to have to wake up before him to change him once or when he woke up in the morning would soak through his diaper. Now, he’s fine! He is also a side sleeper and the stretchy sides are AMAZING!!!! The offer additional protection where other brands lack right through. Hands down the best overnight diapers. Second best is Honest

5.0 out of 5 starsGreat chemical free diapers!!
April 5, 2018
Style: DiapersSize: Size 3Verified Purchase
Love these!! I used cloth diapers for my first child but this time around didn’t go that route. But i still wanted a diaper that was chemical free. These have worked well for my now 8 month old since birth. We never have any blowouts. Sometimes in the morning they have leaked pee but she has been in them all night. She sleeps forever so we are talking 13-14 hours overnight and they normally hold up. They are soft and the design is cute and gender neutral. The only thing I don’t like is that no where on the diaper is the size listed. All diapers always have their size but these don’t. I had some 2s and 3s mixed together and she couldn’t wear 2s overnight so it was frustrating trying to figure out which were which because they were basically the same size when looking at them. I wish they’d mark the size but otherwise love these!!

5.0 out of 5 starsNot just for naturel lovers - great performing diaper!
September 27, 2017
Style: DiapersSize: Size 3Verified Purchase
We had to switch to a diaper brand that was free of EVERYTHING because our daughter had an unexplained terrible diaper rash all the time no matter what we did. These not only fit the bill but I loved the fit on the baby more than the leading brand swaddlers. They are much more money than your average diaper at a Big Box store but these helped us rule out so many variables. Because we went to a bleach, latex, sulfates, everything natural diaper we were finally able to realize that she was lactose intolerant and that's what was causing the rash. I would like to keep buying this brand but I don't know if my husband agrees with the price. If these were priced the same as the leading brand starting with a P then I think he would let e stick with them. Bonus: they are supper cute for a boy or girl!

4.0 out of 5 starsWorks for my daughter
July 1, 2019
Style: DiapersSize: Size 3Verified Purchase
My daughter has a lot of sensitivities to synthetic chemicals and food allergies. She wasn't having any issues with diapers; however, I started to smell a Lysol-like smell from our Target diapers and wanted to switch. She pees a lot and we change pretty frequently throughout the day. I don't change between 7:30pm and 5am. She hasn't had any leaks but her diapers are heavy! I feel like the sizes may be smaller...but I have a very tall daughter so that may be just us.

5.0 out of 5 starsExcellent customer service
January 2, 2019
Style: DiapersSize: Size 4Verified Purchase
We’ve used Seventh Generatiom diapers with both of our kids and have been pleased with the product. We wanted something a bit more environmentally conscious and without all of the chemicals of some of the primary diaper brands. I’m taking the time to write a review to highlight my appreciation for their excellent customer service though as we did have one recent instance in which there was a manufacturing defect with several of the diapers. I contacted Seventh Generation and they were extremely responsive to the feedback and also provided a generous amount of replacement products, which was appreciated.

5.0 out of 5 starsSO glad we found these diapers...

SO glad we found these diapers. Initially we did not have high hopes after reading the reviews, but decided to give it a try. Our baby is on the chunkier side and we have not had an issue with leaks. Its the only brand that has not given him a diaper rash. There is very little transfer of the dampness onto baby's skin when the diaper is wet compared to other brands so that has been very helpful in keeping the rash away. Would recommend it if you're looking for a diaper with minimal chemicals.
