Got one lawn aerator shoes last years. thinking it will be a good combination of both shoes and rolling lawn aerator tool at the same time. i was right，double effort and double results. Easy installed and pushed around. saw some recently result especially the place that i have dead grass became green again. so i think it really worked.
Does what it’s supposed to do. Metal brackets where the spikes are attached is a little cheaply made. They will bend if you exert too much pressure. Also, be sure to oil the wheel well. The handle connection is a poor design. Should have been a bearing or something smoother but it does what it’s designed to do.
I've come to this conclusion about this item: It's for small projects due to its weigh. "This is not a negative rating from me." The small area I used it on worked fine, and the product turned smoothly with no problems. Please, be careful handling the spikes, because they're "sharp and pointy."
It is a great product but I was disappointed with the quality of it. After a little use the metal bars holding the spikes all bent inward so when I use it now it no longer reaches into the ground as much. I was hoping it would last a little longer than one use
It works okay. It isn’t heavy enough to really penetrate the ground well, and even when you are pushing hard into it, the prongs don’t get very deep a lot of the time. It worked decent enough, but it was tough to do. If you have really hard ground, this thing will be next to impossible.
The handle attaches to the roller on the outside of the wheel. It is too loose, so has to be adjusted or else it falls off when you run it over the lawn. I had to take it to a hardware store to try to get some nuts to put on the outside. But when we did that, it no longer rolls. Finally we bent the handle so that it tightly fit over the outside of the wheel.
To start off the nuts on the tire are junk. Supposedly locking nuts however, they do not tighten at all! They can be slide from bottom to top of bolt by hand. The handle is in three sections that wobble in use; also very short.
This didnt work as well as I had hoped. Assembly was easy enough by design. Problem was metal was bent so I had to use some force to fix it. Ok fine once its together. Storage is difficult since it's a bunch of spikes. Kept it in the box when not in use but not taking apart every time.
The spikes need to be slightly curved. When rolling it felt like I was prying out the dirt. This is purely due to the physics.
I ended up using spiked shoes. This product I was not worth the 40$ I spent.
It really works but you have to put a lot of effort into getting the best results. lucky for me the area I needed to work on was not a very large area and I pick axed it to make it easier to break up the soil. Grass was replanted and looks great
This areator is light and the handle is not very rigid, but as you can see in the picture i removed the quard and slipped a 10# rubber plate so that it could dig deeper. Works like a champ now. I should give myself 5 stars!!!
