I also own a Roomba 890, which I have designated to clean the downstairs. while the Roomba does a good job, the bouncing from wall to wall model of cleaning (I think of this as the infinite energy rubber ball model) is inefficient. I have placed visible things on the floor for the Roomba to pick up and it might take 2 or 3 sessions for it to get them all. The Roborock however got everything I placed the first time. The, for lack of a better word "zigzag" pattern covers the entire room, and every room in which it is allowed. It also takes less time, the same area that took the Roomba 55 minutes, takes the Roborock 42, and as I said before it does a better job.
The Roomba frequently gets stuck and asks for help, the Roborock has yet to request any kind of help, other than to empty the dustbin. The Roomba went under something and dragged it's RCON off, the small "tower" in the front of the robot that senses the charging port. I had to rebuild the casing and replace the RCON. The Roborock seems to know it's limits, what it can and can't get under.
I also had a lot of things that were dragged around the room by Roomba, especially anything with a cord. So far, I haven't had this to happen with the Roborock.
I also love the way the Roborock can increase it's suction when it gets on a rug or carpet. My rugs look very good.

Finally purchased this robot vacuum after months of researching different products. We have two dogs that shed quite a bit and this vacuum brings back at least half a dust bin full of stuff every day. This cleans better than top end roomba and neato models (800-900 bucks) and comes with a mopping attachment on top of that. The mop is basically a cloth and water reservoir, but If you fill it with say, swiffer wet jet solution, it does a pretty great job. Basically the best vacuum you can buy at half the price of the competition. We haven't had to manually clean our floors since it arrived

Following a 3 month review testing of the top Robotic Vacuums. I ordered Roborock last 10 days ago. It arrived as promised by Amazon Prime last wednesday. Packaging was profesional and it shows good quality. Initial setup startup was simple, reviewing the YouTube videos helped inmensly. It came fully charged so put it to work right away. Download the app, it was fairly simple to set. It up, with a few small glitches with the IP settings. The instructions r not very clear, probably due to the language barrier. Run it side by side w the Roomba 960 (my wife’s favorite) here are the results

+ appeared to have much better suction
+ uses a different robber roller technology in place of blushes
+ collection canister is much larger than than Roborock
+ virtual barriers are an elegant touch and simple to use
+ Alexa enameled nice to have but does not add to much value
+ Good sound technology
- Dumb random cleaning pattern
- Leaves dust and hair coils behind and never picks them up
- when canister is full it stops, happened underneath furniture & underneath the bed 😞
- one day we left it alone working and it disappeared, though it was under the bed but could not find it. 3 days later we found it in the closet behind the laundry basket 😂
- we could not get it to talk like the earlier models
- about 70% returned to charging
- green light top of the unit is very bright, my wife keeps it the master bedroom, in the dark it is unnecessary bright at night
- it collects a lot of dust/hair/carpet fibers (6 have 6 pets at home) a few times the canister was ful, after empting it, got the same error msg, eventually we found out it collected extra rubish in the connecting tube to the canister. we had to empty it by picking up the Roomba and placing it on to of the garbage. Needless to say lots of dust went on the floor, bad idea, not very sanitary dust dirt all over the floor
- I needed a RoboMop wich costs from $150 to $299 ouch making the cost arounf 1K

+ The app is very easy to setup after getting aroun a couple glitches
+ Excellent technology used to perform the cleanup mode
+ When the canister is full it tells the user the problem, plain english, also, send a msg to ur cell phone
+ We needed to find where it went, well the is an options under settings “Find my Robot Vaccum” and it replies “Hi I am Over here”
also it show u exactly where in the zone clean up is stuck or it if has retuned to base. All very easy to follow graphics
+ Canister is very easy to take it out & empty
+ Uses GPS sensors to give u a cleanup progress report
+ The app keep track of component utilization HEPA filter brush etc etc
+ Tried the Mop option, with its limitations, worked amazingly well
+ App is very well written & tested have not found bugs yet, corny at times w limited help
- Canister is to small & requires frequent attention
- the app has zone setup limitations. It does not allow to outline zones save them and schedule cleanup in saved zones
- it is noisy when the Leanup mode is set to Max Mode
- Mop function while useful is very limited
- it lacks virtualll walls, a magnetic tape on the floor is very primitive virtual, I believe dynasours used it

The winner is. The Roborock S511 - my wife name it Cholita
Superior product, in spite of small drawbacks/isssues ingenious design, excellent use of many technologies, laser scanners, wifi, messaging, sensors, logic board, msg to voice vaccum & Moping for $500 w amazon cupon. (If there is a robotic lawnmower w this technology I will definately get it
I am planing to get one for Dad for his new water from Home 🏡 he is 90yrs old in great shape, but does not clean or vaccum floors nor mop. He does not like anyone else, except my sister, to do it

This robot far far exceeded my expectations. I spent a few hours browsing online the top ten lists on various websites. A couple of the robot Hoover’s seemed to keep coming up. But I couldn’t really figure out how they were different from each other and felt uncomfortable in my decision making process. Then comes my husband and ‘Reddit.’ He read various threads on Reddit and tells me about Xiaomi Roborock. I am shocked and extremely sceptical because from all my browsing I have never heard of this brand! However when I do some of my own research on this brand it turns out to have all the same feature and as a plus it has this ‘mopping’ feature for what seems to be less of a cost compared to other brands. I get a lot of great information from their website and then I see a couple of excellent video reviews on it like this one:
That really tips me over the edge since I now feel comfortable with knowing a lot about this vacuum. The video reviews do a great job and are not just a marketing hype like for the other vacuums. The Reddit posts are also very convincing. As a plus it also seems smarter with the mapping function on the phone. I’m even more surprised at this point that I had not heard of it earlier and that it did not come up at the top in my original search on Amazon. ( it is highly rated like the other vacuums after all) Si I go with my gut feeling on this one and agree with my husband to buy it.

Ok so I can’t compare to other vacuums because this is our first robot vacuum. But oh my oh my it so so good! It has now made my weekly floor mopping obsolete. The moppping feature works great, and I add some essential oils of lemon to the water tank which smells so fresh at the end. I was really just buying the vacuum to keep up with all the crumbs the kids make on a daily basis. I had no idea that it would do such a great mopping job and be able to completely replace me. The floor has a polished look afterwards.

I also tested it out in our rabbits which the results of you can see in the video attached. It does a great job at not messing with the rabbits ) so I feel safe leaving it working while we are out of the house.

As a bonus not expected it is also getting everyone in the house into the great habit of picking everything up of of the floor just so we can have the robot do our floor cleaning. The motivating factor is working! So now strong dirty habits are changing also.

I love the mapping feature since you can get a good idea of where your robot is going and if there are any blind spots. It also tells you how long it takes to do each job.

The water lasts enough to be able to do about 1000sq feet of our floor in the mopping mode. The carpets actually look hoovered after the robot is done.

In conclusion I’m super glad that I chose this vacuum even though I had not heard of it even on sources like consumer reports.

I saw this unit reviewed positively by a couple of You Tube tech gurus I follow and decided to purchase and give it a try. We had been using a less intelligent and less expensive device for a few months that does a good job but tends to just kind of bump around with no real pattern or idea of what it is doing. But we have a very strange layout in our home with lots of corners and angles. This Roborock is amazing. It cleans thoroughly and efficiently without having to watch it or constantly manage to make sure it gets all the cleaning completed. This unit maps out entire area of our downstairs into zones and then proceeds to thoroughly clean. We have dogs and cats (constant shedding) and it really helps to be able to have cleaning done every couple of days. None of our animals seem to mind the roborock, unlike our big loud vacuum cleaner.

Positives :
*Knows the Floorplan and areas it needs to clean
*Extremely effecient in thoroughly cleaning all areas of the home
*Easy to operate once setup.
*Has a nice voice letting you know what it's doing
*Smartly maneuvers corners, obstacles and hard to reach areas
*Looks nice (love the pearl white and rose gold look)
*Seems to be well made
*Very "Smart"
*Relatively quiet compared to manual vacuum cleaners
*Manages obstacles easily and transitions easily from carpet, tile and wood flooring

Improvements :
#I think Xioami could work a little on making the phone app a little easier or intuitive
#Would like a dedicated remote control as an option to phone app
#Won't move all the furniture to get hidden areas

We really love this robot. It saves time and effort and makes it easier to keep the house very clean without dragging out the loud manual vacuum.

Useless as a mop

I hate having to give this product two stars, but I *must* based on the product description. If this was just a vacuum it would earn five stars. But this is a vacuum *AND* mop. So to get fie stars the vacuum has to earn 5 stars and the mop has to earn 5 stars. I bought this unit because I need it to do both well, so I am not willing to give it a pass on the worthless mop feature, as other reviewers have done. So this gets five stars for the vacuum and zero stars for the mop (not exaggerating). And I'm rounding down to 2 instead of rounding up to 3 because of the false advertising. I was duped!

In a nutshell, this vacuum drags a wet rag across your floor while it is mopping. That is not mopping. It cannot remove spots off a floor. It's really a shame they decided to include a faux mopping feature because it detracts from this device which would shine as a vacuum. The mapping technology is pretty spectacular. And the ability to restrict areas with the map is great. There is a lot to like about the vacuum but there is nothing to like about the mop.

Imagine you bought a refrigerator-freezer and the fridge was the best you've ever used but the freezer doesn't even get cold. There is no way the great fridge could compensate for the useless freezer. And that's the experience you get with this vacuum-mop.

Clean sweep...and mop.

So I waited a while to write a review on this. I've had the item for little over 3 months, and bought it mostly because not only did a sweep, but it also mopped. Now it is just a damp mop, but none the less it works very well. the other reason that I told you it's because it did not have a camera a used lasers. This is a big selling point for me if I don't need another camera rolling around my house. The overall quality the item is very good, and I've been very surprised so far. The mapping features extremely useful compared to what I bought with the cheaper version prior that was not a Roborock. I did end up having one minor issue with a part that needed to be replaced, and customer service has been superb. They sent me videos and tutorials on how to troubleshoot and diagnose the problem, it sent me a replacement part of no cost. This is definitely been the biggest Time saver and good investment that we have bought on Amazon in a long time.

I always try to start my reviews telling people to always give a product some months of use before writing reviews to get enough use, data, and experience with the item.
I've had this robot cleaner for some months now and the first week it was awesome. After the second month it was not as awesome as it once was. My house is spacious and simple for it to clean. I have a dog (pitbull) with minimum shedding which I swept every other day. Having this vacuum I almost rarely ever sweep. BUT it constantly goes back to the same spots and it misses spots. It tries to suck up anything in its path which is funny to see. I love the features but it gets annoying when it doesn't do the whole floor.
oh and it hates black rugs.

Huge upgrade from my old Roomba

My new Roborock S5 came in yesterday and it is awesome! It has vacuumed my whole house twice now and mopped once. The best differentiators from my old Roomba. 1. Learns the layout of your house and cleans in an organized pattern, leaving straight lines on the carpet and you can see a map to know that it got every nook and cranny. 2. The app: Virtual barriers, no go zones or the ability to designate a zone that you specifically want cleaned without putting up any physical barriers. I also programmed it through the app in just a couple minutes to schedule automatic cleans and customize settings... something I never did with my Roomba because it seemed too complicated. 3. Because it learns the layout it gets smarter and so it doesn't get stuck in the same spot over and over again. 4. Mopping ability. It is not going to deep clean your floors, but for a quick maintenance mop to get up footprints or the equivalent of a quick one pass with a wet swiffer it is great. It was SO easy to setup for mop mode and it did my whole kitchen in 15 minutes. It comes with a special plastic plate that connects to the charging dock, so if it docks with the mop pad still on it won't hurt your floors 5. Battery life: it vacuumed my whole main floor (on quiet mode) in an hour and 15 minutes and only used 40% of its battery life. It used 5% of its battery to mop my kitchen floor. So I was able to vacuum the whole floor and then mop on one charge! My Roomba was never able to clean my entire main floor on one charge. Not even close, but then again it was hard to know where it had been unless I was going to watch it the whole time and that defeats the purpose of having a robo vacuum. Note: It does seem to be just as loud as my Roomba, but I am not really worried about that. The app and everything you can do because of that is a huge game changer. I'll update again down the road to report on durability.
