Not Great for Dogs with Sensitive Stomachs
Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2019
I bought Nutramax Dasuquin based on my vet's recommendation and all the amazing reviews. My 8 year old dane mix suffers from arthritis and bilious vomiting syndrome (she vomits stomach acid/bile when her stomach has been empty too long). She eats a small amount every four hours to manage this. This method has been successful at preventing bilious vomiting for years. The Dasuquin soft chews, even when broken up, stay in her stomach even after her food is digested and then she vomits up the leftover treat an hour or two later. We switched her to PlanoPaws ActivFlex which she tolerated well. Then we switched her to ScruffyPet Advanced Hip and Joint Supplement for Dogs which she also tolerates well. (No vomiting, gas, diarrhea, etc.)
Because it's so expensive, we decided to give the rest of the Dasuquin to our 13 year old pointer who has no health issues, no arthritis, and does not have a sensitive stomach. He likes the flavor but they give him stinky gas. The ingredients and flavor of these supplements seem excellent; however, due to the exorbitant price and GI intolerance, I am only giving the Dasuquin chews two stars. I will not be purchasing these again and I do not recommend them. There are better, more affordable products out there.
