So I contacted Netflix's customer service and found out that google play and the Nextflix app were clashing. By un-installing google play the Netflix app started to work again. Just to make sure, I re installed Google Play and the Netflix app again stopped working. I hope this information becomes helpful to some, and I hope they fix what ever it is that is causing the two apps to clash.

Like all recent reviews are saying, this app is completely non-functional as of a few days ago (~Jan 17, 2020). If you update from the Amazon Appstore, you will kill your netflix functionality. However, if you *really* need your Netflix fix, you can side load the generic android apk by downloading it from Netflix directly. I posted one review with the link and it was removed -- to find it yourself you can google the phrase (with quotes) "Netflix says This app is not compatible with your device" and it should be the first link on netflix's web page. You need to follow the instructions and temporarily change the security setting on your Fire device. You can change it back to disallow apps from other places besides the app store after side loading the app. The download is directly from netflix (check for yourself). It worked on my Fire HD 8. Good luck getting your app working.
Netflix app finally updated but now won't advance past the logo "NETFLIX" screen. It doesn't even show the little animated red circle underneath the "NETFLIX." I'm going to ask for a free month because this is just ridiculous. And, I already know it's not a compatibility issue because people with different devices are complaining of the same problems. Come on, Netflix! You're usually the most user-friendly streaming service available. Please, fix what you broke and return things to good, simple, working interface!
I ordered this thinking I could get the new Gilmore girls, but apparently it is not on their yet. I get it free for a month, but have only watched one movie. It is great if you have time to watch a lot of movies etc, but I really don't. I do want to see the new Gilmore girls and thought from what I have been reading it was available now...guess I was wrong.
