Amazon calculates a product’s star ratings based on a machine learned model instead of a raw data average. The model takes into account factors including the age of a rating, whether the ratings are from verified purchasers, and factors that establish reviewer trustworthiness.
Just installed this new version and it works fine for streaming (as before) but apparently offline download is not supported on the Kindle Fire HD 8.9? I could not find a list of which devices are supported for download on either the Amazon or Netflix site. Is there anyone who has this specific Kindle and is able to download for offline viewing? I don't even see Download as a menu option in the app (I can see it just fine in the app I installed from the Google store on my Android phone).
While Netflix and this app is a well respected name and has a great product concept, I found that I don't really use it. I gave it a 3 star based on that fact. For the movie or TV show officianado, this might be a treasure.
The amount of new content on the streaming side of Netflix is always sporadic and boring. I always bounce between my streaming and mail services and never pay for both at the same time. I really like being able to turn the services on and off at a whim.
For it being an instant streaming movie selection, it's not bad, I do however think that they should really try to get more updated with their movie selections! The movies they have to choose from have been out for awhile and usually people have already seen them!
