No "smoke" flavor and uneven browning

Worked great for roasting a turkey quickly but the smoke option is a joke as the chips (after an hour and 1/2 (after following the instructions exactly)) were barely charred and NO flavor imparted onto the bird. The turkey came out as if we had roasted it in the oven but the skin was unevenly browned and not crispy on over 1/2 of the bird. Stick with a traditional deep fryer or, better yet if you can find it, the Waring rotisserie deep fryer.
