Much more than the story about the Celtic and Lakers rivalry. A tale of two very different, and yet equally fantastic superstars, both on and off the court. Tells the personal lives of both great athletes. Must have in your collection!
Outstanding documentary on this rivalry that turned into a respected friendship. Tells the story from their beginnings, competition in college and pros. Very well done with input from Magic and Bird themselves.
No doubt this was the golden age of the NBA and these two players were at the very top of the list. If you appreciated the era, you will like this program and the affection that has developed and become stronger over the years.
As a LA native that went to high school in Boston and an avid sports fan this DVD is the best sports doc I've ever seen. It shows how these two really transcended the sport and paved the way for it to become the global sport that it has become.
This is a great story of the rivalry and eventual friendship between two extraordinary athletes. The history of their relationship is portrayed accurately and interestingly against the backdrop of events at the time. It is poignant and heart warming. It gave me an even greater admiration for both of them.
I've already watched this about 10 times. It's a must have especially if you like either Magic or Bird. If it were an ESPN film, it would fit in the 30 for 30. HBO did themselves a service by producing this. Tieuel
