Loved Season 1 but Season 2 lost it's laughs and mojo

I REALLY enjoyed Season 1 and was happy to hear that the show was picked up for Season 2. Now having seen Season 2, if I was told there will be a Season 3, I'd reply with a "meh, probably won't bother to watch". The characters were the same, they just added a LOT (a LOT!!) of who-cares characters with the typical Hollywood crap of "evil characters are good and good characters are evil". Toss in a huge focus on "red tape" as a major plot point and you wind up with a show that is easy to walk out of the room to get a snack or whatever.

Season 1 succeeded because it was simple ... just like The Tick. Good was good, Evil was evil and he helped those of us dealing with the gray areas in our everyday lives see that with humor. Season 2 just brings more gray

Genuine, Earnest, Smart Comedy

I'm so in love with how heartfelt this show is. Sure, it's satire, and it's great at deconstructing the tropes of the superhero genre, and the jokes are hilarious, but on top of that it struck me continuously while watching (and I got through both seasons twice in 4 days, cuz I loved it so much) just how earnest the message of "Choose Love" is throughout. Its ideology isn't subtle, but it's smart. I love The Tick and I hope that Amazon recognizes how good it is and gives it a third season.

Honestly I've loved this series for a long while now and it did not disappoint. I can only hope they green light more seasons quickly so we don't have to wait another 2 years for a season 3. You will laugh and cry in the same episode, I'm telling you. I don't cry easily, I was teary eyed more than once. I laughed my ass off, but I found myself endeared to most of the characters constantly. I was really concerned when things took a turn for the heroes, and all this in a show that's meant to be satire? 10 episodes every 2 years isn't enough, please give us more!

Now that is getting back to the insanity

Season 1 was a little heavy on the murder side.

Season 2 gets quite a bit back towards the animated series with less murder and more insanity. I'm not certain live action will ever be as expressive or as dynamic as the animation was but this is making a mighty effort.

So, new characters are rising and old characters are evolving. Arthur seems a lot less likely to be committed to an insane asylum this season. The overall pace is good but so little actually happens now.

I still had a great time and am far more comfortable saying this is almost family friendly material (parents may still want to be around for some explaining),

I'm not the biggest fan of Dot becoming a super hero. The actress is hot and great, and her super power isn't over the top, but I liked dot's function in the old series namely helping to keep Arthur grounded in a little reality. This isn't the animated series and I guess mom is getting called in for that job now. JOAN!

Anyhow, I binged it in a day and am looking forward to more twists and turns.

Why are there no rooftop patrol scenes in season 2?

Will Blow Hole ever run again?

Honestly this series has barely touched the enormous vault of crazy that lies in the Tick comics and animated series so it should have many seasons of raw material with barely any effort unless actor egos ruin everything.

Brilliant second season!

Like season 1, season 2 of "The Tick" is brilliant. Funny, fast moving, full of clever dialog, and well acted. All of the characters seem real, given their situation. Except John Hodgeman, of course. I've seen so much of him on other shows playing himself that I couldn't really see his character as anything but a (funny) joke. Sorry, John, you're in the same class as John Wayne--I don't see the character, only the actor.

This is the kind of show where every single character has a backstory in the creator's mind, and every single scene is fun and interesting. I really enjoyed seeing the development of several characters. Dot, Overkill, and Walter all get significant screen time and even Tinfoil Kevin shows his true mettle. Ms. Lint/Joan of Arc surprised me more than once, and even Superian gains a significant amount of complexity.

Overall, The Tick is clearly a labor of love for Ben Edlund (creator) and Patrick Warburton (producer) and all the others. Despite copyright issues, they still manage to have a number of of callbacks to earlier series. Liz Vassey as the voice of Lobstercules--so cool!

I really appreciate Amazon letting the creators do their thing, and hope to see many, many more seasons of "The Tick!"
And what a pair of cliffhangers at the end of Episode 10!

The first season was good. This one's GREAT.

I've enjoyed Ben Edlund's The Tick since its days as a Saturday morning cartoon. But its latest incarnation isn't just the best of the big blue bug's multiple media adaptations. It's not just funny (although this season brims with laugh-out-loud moments). In season 2, the Tick has become a legitimately terrific show – goofy and absurd, yes, but also delightfully sincere. These ten fast-paced episodes are packed with surprising plot twists, well-developed characters, beautiful production values, and a ton of heart. The show finds the right balance between insanity and earnestness, even sneaking in a few serious and profound themes, and making you care about the most ridiculous members of its sprawling ensemble. It's hard to embrace this show's distinct kind of silliness without tipping into camp, but The Tick's never laughing at its audience or its characters. (It is, however, happy to laugh with them.) Like Daredevil season 3 on a certain other streaming service, the season moves from strength to strength, with its visual style, storytelling, and superb cast firing on all cylinders. Peter Serafinowicz's portrayal of the title character remains an absolute hoot, with a velvety, Adam-West-with-a-head-injury bonhomie. Griffin Newman's Arthur is still wonderfully human amid all the superpowered madness. And the supporting cast is just ridiculously great, with the female characters especially getting more of a chance to shine in a series with a notable plethora of episodes written and directed by women. In these grim times, a bright, colorful show without an ironic bone in its body is just what we need. More, please. The season ends with a callback to that original cartoon series that's just too genius to go unfulfilled.

Super Entertaining Superhero Series!

I love this series! It's funny, clever, creative and well acted. The main actors are perfectly casted, and it's just really entertaining and fun to watch. I think overall, season 1 was funnier and the zingers hit harder. But season 2 is more organized, compelling, and genuine in its emotional story... The. Tick. Is. AWESOME!!! He's big, he's blue and he's badass. His interactions with anxiety-prone Arthur are priceless. Gotta love it!!

This show is absolutely hilarious, the comedic gold in this show elevates it far beyond the typical superhero story. It makes the unbelievable aspects inevitably associated with superheroes something to embrace instead of cringe at. Five stars!

Season 2 has the greatest character development of any recent show I can think off. The Tick, Arthur, Dot, Overkill, Dangerboat, Kevin, Walter, Joan and Mrs. Lint all grow by leaps and bounds. The new characters like Wrathbone, Edgelord, Lobstercules and the other minor heroes are great too. This people making this show know how to handle superheroes and keep it entertaining.
