Not safe for airbag cars
Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2019
I will never buy a car with leather seats again... Wearing shorts and getting in when the summer sun has been beating down on them is a terrible combination. These covers were easy to install, other than the expected challenges of getting straps under the seats. Our Prius doesn't have separate seat cushions for the bottom and back - it's sewn straight down to the bottom on the backside, so I had to run the straps around the sides of the cushion and then under the seat, but they were long enough and are holding nice and tightly.
Edited after two weeks of use:
One would think running the "through the seat" straps around the outside of the seat instead would have held it in place even better, but instead, after a very few uses, these have shifted inward from us getting in and out. The airbag flap does not stay tucked in and it's no longer positioned to allow safe deployment of the side airbag. Instead, it looks like crap with the flap hanging open and positioned at the front of the seat rather than directly on the side where it needs to be. Rather than an issue with the straps, I attribute this to the thin, stretchy fabric... It stretches when you get into the car, then stays in the new position afterward, like having a tube sock over your seat. They need to be a stiffer fabric to maintain a safe position for airbag use.
I had really wanted to like these, but it looks like they're going back. One star for fast shipping and easy installation, but since they don't perform well at all after just a few uses, all that is pretty much useless.
